This summer, I wanted to work as a helper at the center for family and child’s enrichment for kids ages 6 to 17. My job might be to help lead different activities like games, arts and crafts, nature walks, and water play. I could work with a team of other people, and be responsible for keeping the others safe, making sure they are having fun, and helping solve any problems that come up. I also can help set up and clean up after activities and make sure kids were where they were supposed to be throughout the day.
One of the most important parts of a job is to make sure everyone felt included. Sometimes kids feel left out or get into arguments, so I have to be patient and help them talk it out. I learned how to stay calm in stressful situations and how to think fast when plans have to change. For example, if it rains one day, we’d have to move everything indoors and come up with new games on the spot.
Working will help me become more confident and responsible. I can get better at working with others, communicating clearly, and staying organized. I can also learn how to be a leader and set a good example for the younger kids. It is a lot of hard work, but it is also really rewarding to see the your people have a great time. I’d be really proud if i got this job & i’ll be able to help make their summer special.
