ROLLS AND GUIDE ASSEMBLY FITTER

Rolling Mill Stand Cassette Preparation: Prepare rolling mill stand cassettes for
intermediate and finishing stands, ensuring alignment with production
requirements and minimizing downtime.
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards by
reviewing and updating departmental procedures and documents. Maintain
accurate records of all maintenance activities and inspections.
Enforce safe working practices on the shop floor, executing all industrial safety
rules according to company policies to prevent damage to personnel and
equipment.
Inspect and maintain lubrication points, coolants, and hydraulic oil levels;
replenish supplies as needed. Ensure proper use of calibrated and hand tools to
uphold equipment integrity.
Cassette Management: Ensure that all cassettes supplied to production are
prepared according to the rolling program and tool change protocols. Maintain
an adequate inventory of spare cassettes to avoid production downtime.
Conduct regular inspections of roll necks, bearings, gears, guide saddles, and
hoses. Implement corrective measures for any wear or damage identified,
maintaining detailed records of inspections and actions taken.
Work closely with supervisors and the production team to receive instructions
and report on maintenance activities. Participate in general safety and
housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the
overall efficiency and effectiveness of the roll shop operations.
STAND AND GUIDE FITTER

Spare Parts Management: Ensure all spare stands and guides are available in
the mill to prevent production downtime.
Equipment Monitoring: Conduct regular monitoring of all equipment within the
assigned section to maintain optimal performance.
Assembly & Preparation: Assemble stands and guides according to rolling mill
requirements and ensure they are prepared as per the rolling program.
Inspection & Maintenance: Inspect lubrication points, grease systems, and
cooling systems; perform repairs as necessary to maintain proper functioning.
Repairs & Adjustments: Repair stands, guides, and accessories according to
dimensions and specifications (as per technical drawings)
Tool Utilization: Ensure the proper use of calibrated tools and hand tools for
precise mechanical work
Setting & Calibration: Perform setting of stands and guides using guide set-bars
and filler gauges to meet production specifications.
Additional Duties: Execute other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the
rollshop supervisor to support overall mill operations.
