I am an aspiring tradesperson interested in applying to your company.
I want to acquire an open entry-level fabricator, fitter, welder, or mechanical job to enhance my technical skills and knowledge across the industry. I plan to develop my skills, garner experience, and gain hands-on education while contributing to your company's success.
My studies at Sheridan College, which earned me a Welding and Fabrication Technician diploma as of April 17, 2025, have given me extensive practice with multiple welding and torch-cutting processes and methods in fabricating, measuring, lay-out and fit-up, as well as experience with power- and hand-tools used for cutting, shearing, drilling, punching, grinding, measuring, and inspecting. I have Canadian Welding Bureau certification for SMAW 1gf and 2gf with Carbon Steel, MIG 1gf, and Flux 1gf (certification letters available upon request). Time in class has also given me experience with in-position and out-of-position welding, particularly with FCAW and SMAW. I have also received training in cutting processes such as plasma arc and oxyfuel, with oxyacetylene brazing, TIG welding on carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, closed-root and open-root welding, and welding on both plate and pipe. I have also received a foundation in reading blueprints, basic trade mathematics, non-destructive testing and inspection, rigging and hoisting, and utilizing AUTOCAD.
During my studies at Sheridan, I worked part-time in the auto and tools department at Canadian Tire. This helped me maintain my manual work and customer service skills and gave me learning opportunities in the products in these departments to better answer customers' inquiries.
My time at Kemflo Canada has made me accustomed to working long hours in fast-paced, loud environments where I must be on my feet for long durations, attending to multiple tasks, including supervising machinery output and packaging. It has also allowed me to enhance my teamwork and multitasking skills, and work with counterbalanced forklifts for specific tasks.
My previous experiences from high school to university have given me ample opportunities to develop skills in outreach, customer service, self-discipline, house-cleaning, research, and group organizational skills. This has included my time working in retail at Jim’s No Frills, an internship at Marquest Financial Asset Management, and my high school cooperative program for the constituency office of former MP Costas Menegakis.
I can be reached at 647-***-****. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Thank you and best,
Eli Wagman
