Recent position(s), 2017 to present:

I assumed various positions around the country to teach and work in cardiology and vascular ultrasound. I did nearly one year at Stanford university hospitals pediatric cardiology, all the way to small clinics in West Virginia, Arizona, Florida, and Michigan. Follows is a brief summary of some of these locations:

1.University of Michigan Health West, Wyoming, MI from August 2023 to August 2024. Adult echocardiograpahy, TEE, Lumason/Definity, Saline Contrast, Cath Lab, ER protocols, etc.

2.Owosso Memorial Hospital, Owosso, Michigan. May to August 2022. Then to Duke Life Point in Marquette in August, 2022.

3.Duke Life Point Hospital, Marquette, Michigan. Adult and pediatric echocardiography. Critical care and out-patient. Ultrasonic opacification protocols and saline contrast. AMN contract. END DATE 19 August 2023

4.St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Echocardiography contract from 7 February to June, 2021. Adult stress echo, Definity, saline contrast, etc. 260 beds. AMN contract.

5.COVID break from April 2020 to February 2021.

6.November 2019 to March 2020: ProMedica, Coldwater Michigan, contract cardiac sonographer. Resting transthoracic and esophageal echocardiography.

7.July 2019 to Atlas med staff, Loris South Carolina and seaside South Carolina. Hospital system work between two hospitals. All cardiac ultrasound.

8.August 2017 to July 2019 Technical director at Vital Health Scores Diagnostic and Treatment Center, Traverse City, MI.

9.(At same time as line 3: St. Mary’s Hospital, Grand Rapids MI. Adult and pediatric echo cardiology. Contractor with Emerald Health From October 2018 to April 2019)

10.April 18 – July 7, 2017: Technical Director, Heart Care Centers of Florida, Titusville, FL. Technical director of all cardiovascular ultrasound imaging activities. Declined further employment over quality of life considerations.

11.November 2016 – April 2017: Davis Medical Center, Elkins, WV. Teacher/educator in adult echocardiology and vascular imaging. Contract staff cardiovascular sonographer. Protocols in saline and left ventricular opacification studies. Aureus Medical.

12.2016, August to November: Cottage Hospital system, Santa Barbara, California. Contract pediatric and adult echocardiographer. Adult and pediatric transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography. Pediatric cardiologists, UCLA. Full protocols in saline and left ventricular opacification.

13.2018-19; September - St. Mary’s hospital, Grand Rapids, MI. Adult/Pediatric echocardiography, a contract position. Very positive and successful, as all contracts.

November 2014 - December 2015, Stanford University Hospitals and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Palo Alto, CA. Pediatric echocardiology, complex congenital and acquired heart disease. Critical care, PACU, pre - post cardiac transplant protocols. A contract/staff sonographer position. Asked to recommit three times. AMN contract.

EMR systems: Cerner, McKesson, Syngo Dynamics, Epic, Merge, and others. EMR systems used in multiple departments from cardiology to radiology with integration with other systems.

Imaging systems: Philips ie33, Philips Epiq, GE/Phillips Vivid and iU series, Siemens 2000 series, Biosound North America, Sonosite, Mindray, and others. Point of care ultrasound testing protocols and teaching.

Clinical Expertise, summary:

Vital Health Scores Integrative Diagnostics & Treatment Center, Traverse City, MI. Serving as technical director since the inception of the clinic in 2017. Developed all marketing protocols for local print and radio outlets. Developed and conduct all adult and pediatric cardiac imaging, metabolic testing, vascular testing, abdominal ultrasound, and bone health testing with DEXA unit. The clinic is open to all who request the services regardless of ability to pay. While the clinic has downsized recently, Dr. Douglas J Wigton, the owner and medical director, continues to enable this clinics message of Disease prevention, education, and metabolic health and personal responsibility to as wide an audience as possible.
