SAP Upgrade of ECC 5.0, SRM 4.0 to Business suite 2007 & NW 7.3

Organized the whole upgrade process and multiple upgrades of ECC, SRM to finalize the timelines of total upgrade process to estimate the cutover timelines and go-live durations.

Prepared the whole upgrade template of ECC, SRM, EP, PI, BI which also includes the crucial phases like stack creation, and downloading the correct upgrade media.

Conducted crucial Prechecks phase to make the As-Is system Upgrade Ready.

Properly configured the As-Is system in the solution manager and then the system is checked with landscape verification tool to make sure that the Stack XML file is the right one for the upgrade tool.

Defined the Upgrade strategy and sequence of upgrade of Dev, Quality & production systems to retain the modification of SAP Objects.

Upgraded the solution manager from 7.0 to 7.0 EHP1 to make it compatible for generation of stack files for the upgrade tool and installed Landscape verification tool as add-on.

Performed the java decommission of the dual stack ECC 5.0 system and defined the strategy for the movement of existing ESS and MSS processes on the java stack

Defined Database backups at appropriate stages of upgrade process and performed log archiving disable.

Checked the prerequisites to meet the minimum requirements of OS patches, DB patches and hot fixes & SAP Kernel version & SPs & Add-ons.

Defined the strategy for modification adjustments and coordinated with development team to capture the modifications information in to transport request and used the transport request later in Quality and production upgrades.

Analyzed Central Upgrade note, Application note, and Database specific note and documented the steps accordingly during the Pretasks phase.

Carefully created the template of tasks for all the upgrades based upon sandbox upgrades and made changes to the templates as and when required as per the issues and fixes.

Co-ordinate with ABAP team to make the SPAU changes and capturing them in transport request and further import of it to make carried on changes.

Successfully finished the upgrade with options like downtime minimized, inclusion of SP stacks in the upgrade to minimize the time lines, applying the crucial & prerequisite support packs before upgrade.

Created NWDI tracks for the Portal development in CE 7.1 server for the new software component development in SRM portal.

Prepared a list of Pretasks/Rechecks which are to be performed before each upgrade.

Carefully captured the timelines to help business estimate exact timelines.

Mainly assigned to ECC & SRM upgrades but always discussed and solved issues of other team members who are carrying EP, PI & GTS upgrades.
