Responsibilities:

Planning and preparing technical drawings and construction layouts.

Ensuring compliance with health, safety and legal regulations at construction sites.

Prepare and maintain detailed records of construction activities, budgets, materials and any changes made to project plans.

Assist with cost tracking and financial reporting to help manage costs and avoid budget overrun.

Supervise day to day construction and maintenance activities to ensure that they align with quality standards, building regulations and project plans.

Preparing, presenting and managing capital expenditure budget for the University.

2. Organization: Municipality of Chinhoyi

Responsibilities

Design and develop construction plans, specifications and bid documents for construction, roads, water, wastewater and storm water projects.

Review and comment on proposed urban layout, infrastructure plans, specifications and construction estimates in relation to compliance with town regulations, bylaws and specifications.

Attend and participate in council meetings, construction meetings and other board and committee meetings.

Supervise, direct and provide leadership and motivation for staff within the Engineering department.

Conduct routine performance reviews of staff and determine appropriate training and development needs for staff within the Engineering department.

Managing and supervising all engineering contracts and projects on behalf of Council.

Managing the maintenance of all municipal infrastructure; buildings, roads, water and sewer systems.

Administer contracts, including preparing requests for proposals, reviewing and interviewing respondents, negotiating scope of work and contract terms, and overseeing contract performance.

Conduct technical and feasibility assessment of all planned construction of all planned construction and rehabilitation works within the district.

Ensure incoming materials are of expected quality and meet technical specifications.

Currently managing the construction of the Zimbabwe National Geospatial and Space Agency (ZINGSA) administration complex (US$6.8mil)

Currently managing the design and construction of the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE) administrative complex (US$9.9mil)

Managed the design and construction of a double-storey office complex for the University costing US$850,000.

Managed the design and construction of the University’s main administration three- storey block with a cost of US$12.7mil

Managed the design and construction of the University’s Agro-industrial Park facilities. (US$3.5mil)

Managed the rehabilitation of water systems in the Chinhoyi area up to project commissioning. A project funded by the European Union at a cost of US$485,000. REFEREES
