Manufacturing Plant – Machine Operator

Jan 2017 – Present: Panasonic Energy of North America

M2 Operator: Operate coating machine for cathode side of lithium battery for Tesla vehicle. Duties include:

Operate 1c and 2c coating booths: Sub tank consists of a pump, 4 magnets, 2 mesh filters, directional piping from tank to flow meter to servo valve to die head;

Assist with Coating: computer graph display reads a beta ray showing the weight of the coating, and die head has 20 micrometers to help with the application of slurry;

Operate Unwinder: new foil to be spliced to allow for continuous running, prep foil for splicing, check for dents and any other mar that will cause a foil break;

Operate Winder: Produce coils, check for edge bump, streaks, uncoated gap and obiki;

Perform coil splice preparation: measure coils in meters for MES and prep for conversion to sheets, wrap with shrink wrap, make labels on MES computer, and use computer program to call AGV to retrieve and store coils in the ASRS;

Disassemble sub tank: wash with water and dry with compressed air, and reassemble to ensure all functions are operational;

Remove die heads: remove micrometers, choke bars, clean all parts and reassemble to specifications;

Quality checks; and

Follow all PENA safety and work instructions.

Warehouse – Inbound Receiver

Unload semi-truck trailers, lock out trailer and apply J hook to ensure safe entry.

Die Repairman

Supervisor Duties: receive pass down at beginning of shift. Determine where employees will be stationed throughout the shift. Check time of each employee, ensure every employee is up to date on work instructions, work safety instructions, any revisions and all incident reports. Ensure production meets the goals set by management. Ensure all safety regulations are followed.

Perform duties as outlined in KA work instructions for die repair technician

Inspect material to ensure dimensions, contour and angularity to die print and determine if it is in tolerance.

Inspect extrusion material for defects( blisters, broken surface, orange peel, tool rub and waves)

Repair dies that do not meet specifications. After completion return die to oven to be extruded a second time.

Check in new tooling to ensure vendor made tooling (die, backer, bolster, sub bolster) match design print.

Follow all safety rules and policies

Train employees in die repair, press operators, assistant operator setup and on the fork lift

Assume supervisor duties when required (up to 20 employees)
