Accounts Payable Store Manager

My Husband and I started this company in June of 1993. We have built a business that has employed and trained many people for this type of job choice. The young people that we have trained have moved on and have created excellent careers for themselves with the skill sets the learned from us. These are young people who chose not to have a college degree but to go right into the work force. After 30 plus years of business we made the choice to prepare our company for sale and retire but the pandemic changed all of that. In April of 2020 we had to almost completely close our doors and had the unfortunate and difficult decision to tell our employees there was no more business. Within this business I was responsible for Accounts Payable/receivables, filing taxes, payroll and maintaining inventory levels along with ordering and sales.

Store Manager, The Olive Tree Christian Book Store I managed this store for almost 10 yrs., 1995 through 2005. Wonderful Job and positive work environment. I was responsible for not just Managing the employees but was also responsible for the hiring and firing of employees. I also kept up with inventory, ordering and making sure that inventory was properly labeled and placed in their appropriate places. Also planning events such as Book Signings and Seasonal events. Education Central Carolina Technical College, Sumter SC 1997-2002 I earned an associate degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in business. I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends and entertaining. I love event planning and everything that foes along with that. I am a self starter and I have no problems making decisions. I am a natural Leader but I do not mind being in the back ground or behind the scenes if necessary. Even though I do work well with the public I do not mind working on my own.
