DevID Test Engineer/Application Infrastructure Network Engineer Hewlett Packard Enterprise – Through Icon Consulting 02/2022 – 02/2024
Configured and setup development phase Proliant servers with iLO (Integrated Lights Out), firmware, drivers, and Linux based Operating Systems and applications.
Used Putty for SSH, BASH scripts to automate simple test functions, PowerShell for Windows to interface with Linux boxes and run commands and scripts, WinSCP and SCP CLI to transfer files between systems, Python to perform simple stress and load testing cases, OpenSSL for certificate management (SHA2 HASH file generation, encryption performed using RSA 2048), Postman and Talend to send commands to API endpoints, Jira for defect management, and began working with Airflow to implement high level automation.
Configured an RAS Server to host services used to respond to CSR’s as well as to validate signed code and compare Hardware HW manifests with other machines current hardware configurations.
Also worked with Code Signing team to get secure Public and Private Key pairs generated and ensure application authenticity.
Designed, setup, configured, and validated a class 4C /22 network used for internal network management of the servers in our lab. This also included setting up one server on the corporate network to be used as a jump server for remote access. The network design allowed isolated rack access for all 12 network racks using Aruba smart switches Network ID’s and individual and ranged port assignments. This allowed access to main jump station from any rack and provide access to specific ranges of addresses within the 22 net in order to prevent cross traffic or network contamination. Also configured network load balancing to improve performance and firewall rules to allow external authenticated traffic into the network.
Ran cables and physically set up the network to connect to rack iLO devices, PDU’s, network switches, UPS’, sensor arrays, and any other network appliances that were appropriate for the computer management network.
Maintained and updated network systems and devices as needed by proactively installing firmware and driver updates as well as implementing new/added features when applicable.

Hewlett Packard - Corvallis, OR
05/2000 – 10/2002
Responsible for H/W, BIOS, and Driver Qualification for all HP notebooks.
Assisted the Electrical engineering, BIOS, and image teams extensively by developing test strategies to stress the system, load testing cases for benchmarking, creating preliminary images, holding weekly defect review meetings, and offering possible workarounds and solutions for various problems.
Traveled extensively to the ODM's in Taiwan in order to pre-qualify hardware before being shipped to the U.S. Received several letters from the ODM's and HP managers commending my performance.
Trained test teams in Taiwan to execute test plans and effectively and accurately record anomalies and defects in our defect tracking system.
Interviewed and hired test engineers for use in our on-site test lab(s).
Responsible for coordinating and organizing weekly defect review meetings until our handoff to the Quality Assurance team.
My first project was an ultraportable notebook and the associated portable dock. Dock contained two hot swappable module bays, each capable of supporting a variety of IDE devices, 3 Mode Floppy drives, and batteries. It also had its own embedded controller that contained a CD Player (even with the unit undocked), battery charge gauge, time and date, and full volume controls. The complexity of the project exceeded anything HP had previously developed. Maintained a stable working environment and prepared for and managed the transition of Tornado (see above note) to the new Houston Campus. Development Test Engineer
