4) Journeyman’s degree in Production Horticulture (greenhouse and nursery crop production) Work History: I have worked in many jobs over the years but I will just list the most important ones. 2019 to Present day: I have been working in Edmonton at Think Green Alberta in landscape maintenance and winter snow removal.

2008 to 2019 (over 11 years): I worked in Guangzhou, China as an ESL teacher for Web International English. After the first year I was promoted to Foreign ESL Manager (also called “Head Teacher”) and was responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising all the foreign staff. In total I supervised 45 to 50 foreign teachers in 9 different schools under the Guangzhou and Foshan branch. I regularly served as a liaison between the Chinese management and the foreign staff, often acting as a translator, also I assisted many of the foreign staff with their Chinese tax documents. 1991 to 2008 (17 years): I owned and operated my own landscaping business called “Get Growing Landscaping”. I started the business while I was still in college and after graduation I just kept expanding it, I averaged about 50 regular customers and worked an 11 month season every year in Vancouver. Most of the year I focused on landscape maintenance but in the winter and early spring I would do a lot of pruning, tree topping, landscape design and installation/construction. Also I did the bookkeeping, tax returns, and payroll for the company. Job Skills:

1) I am trained in Sage 50, also I have experience with Turbo Tax software. 2) Most of my bookkeeping experience includes payroll, general journal entries, bank reconciliation, income statements, balance sheets, and taxes.

3) I am quite skilled with business software such as Microsoft Power Point and Excel. 4) I speak Mandarin and Cantonese at a high level. (35 years speaking Mandarin, 25 years speaking Cantonese).

6) I am good at managing, supervising, and training. 7) Anything to do with landscape design, installation, and maintenance. 8) I have experience with many landscape related power tools including larger machines such as bobcats, backhoes, ex-mark lawnmowers, aerators, tractors, etc. 9) I am very familiar with most plant species used in Western Canada. 10)I am experienced with pesticides, especially insecticides and herbicides. Expected Salary: For landscaping I expect the journeyman’s rate, for all other jobs the going rate is fine.
