CONTRACT PEDIATRIC THERAPIST: Served as Lead Therapist/ Site Supervisor at Davis Developmental Center (Chicago Public Schools) – a Preschool for developmentally challenged children ages 3-6. Responsible for orientation and mentorship of new Physical therapists, supervision of therapy students and one therapy aide, team leader/ site supervisor of four other therapists, helped develop school curriculum, performed evaluations, staff in-servicing, participation in multidisciplinary staffing, and developing individual educational plans, ordering and issuing therapeutic equipment, primary Physical Therapy consultant on a new playground design installed at Davis, instituted positioning plan books, assisted with classroom (physical) reorganization with a therapeutic approach, perform employee review for two years for a PTA, initiated routine wheelchair clinics to service students, and a host of many other on-site responsibilities. Served on a committee for New School Design to help develop a state of the arts grammar school which is due to built in Chicago, IL. Served on a committee of Physical and Occupational Therapists to develop the “Guidelines for Educational Therapy Services” which is currently used city wide in Chicago Public Schools. (Also worked as contract therapist at Blair School on Chicago’s Southwest side 1993-1994).

CONTRACT PEDIATRIC THERAPIST: Served as the Primary Physical Therapist as Misericordia Home South (a 110 bed pediatric residential facility housing non-ambulatory physically challenged residents aged 0-28). Responsible for yearly evaluations, goal and objective setting and documentation; devising and updating all positioning options, issuance and ordering of equipment, limited equipment fabrication, developed Scoliosis Clinic, Orthotics Clinic and Massage Bed Program. One of two therapists responsible for supervision of four therapy aides, two hydro therapy aides, and one PTA, one therapy technician and two volunteers. Daily in-servicing of certified Nursing Assistants regarding positioning, equipment and appliance issues pertaining to the residents’ daily living; Post surgical/ cast follow-up as needed; prompted OT/PT departmental reorganization which proved successful. Consult with teachers and parents regularly. Attend staffing on bi-weekly basis with an interdisciplinary team, and a host of many other responsibilities.
