FishNET - Student Capstone Project Sept 2023 - Dec 2023 Wireshark based network packet analyzer for logging and capturing of data packets for users to analyze the files for any signs of intrusion and alteration in incoming network traffic. Able to filter and capture TCP/UDP traffic within a specific timeframe and convert them into a downloadable PCAP file to view on any Wireshark Client.
Files are separated and converted into graphs for the user in order to view the packets in empirical data form via MatplotLib. Keeps time-disposable logs of any peculiar data packets. Has a complete and modern looking front-end UI on a locally hosted webpage utilizing HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Bootstrap CDN. Hosted on Linode with Apache for the webserver and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS as the OS and connected withFlask. MySQL database to hold user accounts and encrypted passwords. PiHole DNS Sinkhole Nov 2024 - Present
Utilizes PiHole running on a local server to monitor all DNS requests for adserver responses and forwards the traffic into a DNS sinkhole while maintaining logs and updating adlists effectively. Conduct regular audits of DNS performance and security protocols to identify potential vulnerabilities and optimize the effectiveness of the DNS sinkhole.
