Kansas City, MO Title: Senior Electrical Designer – Designed duct bank and cable tray systems for a polymer plant in Orange, TX. The client is Golden Triangle. Designed supports for Eaton B-Line cable tray series using NEMA VE-2 requirements. Checked drawings against the 3D model for consistency, meeting NEC codes and constructability using Navisworks.

Updated drawings and cable database per engineering and field design change requests using MicroStation and SmartSketch. Worked closely with Bechtel coordinating Westinghouse WIRED cable management software with SETROUTE. Seated adjacent to the Bechtel SETROUTE team at Vogtle Nuclear Power Plant. Passed background check and safety classes to obtain a plant entry badge.

Charlotte, NC Title: Senior E/I – Worked remotely from home during the COVID Pandemic. Transferred to Vogtle Nuclear Power Plant Waynesboro, GA job site in 2/2021. Fulfilling Engineering Service Requests to assist construction. I am fully vaccinated including all boosters.

Worked on Westinghouse AP1000 Nuclear power plant design finalization. Duties included physical routing, sizing, design and routing of cables using cable manager program, cable trays, conduit, MCC’s, starters and seismic cable tray supports using PDS Support modeler.

Worked on PlantSpace modeling to create cable tray runs, equipment models, conduit, raceway, and duct banks. Used Navigator and Smart Plant Review to do virtual walk-downs. Cut drawings, details and sections to make 2D drawings from 3D model. Routed cables utilizing GSN software with TrayMatic and CableMatic creating pull and termination tickets. Client was Dominion Power, to install a new fossil fuel power plant in Southwest Virginia.

Worked on the Buck power plant for Duke Energy. Duties are the same as above for the Dominion power plant.

Worked on the Nine Mile power plant located in New Orleans, LA. Used 3D PlantSpace, 3D AutoCAD and GSN software to run underground duct banks for the project site. Also designed and developed electrical systems for pumping stations that were relocated and re-fed from other sources.

Chicago, IL Title: Senior E/I – Worked on the electrical design of a storage facility for heavy crude oil extracted from bituminous sands located in Canada. Software used is AutoCAD 2D, Microstation, Intergraph PDS Equipment Modeling, Drawing Manager, Orthogen and EE Raceway. Used Smart Plant Review to identify and correct equipment conflicts.

Boston, MA Title: Senior E/I – Worked on Fossil Fuel power plant FGD and SCR Units using AutoCAD 2D, 3D, Microstation, Intergraph PDS Equipment Modeling, Drawing Manager, Orthogen and EE Raceway. Used Smart Plant Review to identify and correct equipment conflicts. Designed power distribution and control systems.

Walt Disney World January 2005 – October 2006

Orlando, FL Title: Senior E/I - Worked for Ride and Show Engineering. Designed controls for new rides, ride enhancements and monorail systems. Worked with Walt Disney Imagineering to assist in design and development of controls and power distribution for the new NEMO ride at Living Seas pavilion at EPCOT. Communications between the PLC and the I/O was Allen Bradley Remote I/O, the communications between the PLC and the HMI panels were Allen Bradley DH plus. Also worked with Magic Kingdom sustaining engineering department.

Durham, NH Title: Senior E/I - Worked under contract as an electrical designer. Responsibilities included control schematics, wiring diagrams, writing and drawing commercial specs for procurement. Solved client's electrical order fulfillment and production issues.

Chattanooga, TN Title: Senior E/I - Worked under contract as lead designer to install Selective Catalytic Reduction units for the TVA Kingston, TN Fossil Fuel Plant. Responsibilities included designing conduit, cable tray, schematics and wiring diagrams. Design included FGAS buildings, ammonia injection grid and dilution air fans. Coordinated with various vendors to prepare drawings and documents to meet TVA standards.

Dover, NH Title: Senior E/I - Worked under contract as an electrical designer in the R&D department. Worked on new designs and prototypes for a newspaper press, angle bar and slitters and binding units. Responsibilities included control schematics, wiring diagrams, writing and drawing commercial specs for procurement, coordinating with assembly personnel and writing engineering change notices. Worked as designer for UBII binding machine prototype. Helped design controls for custom binder units. Specific components used were Beckhoff I/O Bus terminals, Siemens Midi and Micro Master drives, Siemens S7-416 PLC’s utilizing Profibus communication.

Delisle, MS Title: Programmer - Worked under contract to maintain seven packing lines at DuPont’s titanium dioxide plant. Assigned to DCS group to trouble-shoot and revise PLC program to achieve less down time and resolve order fulfillment problems. Worked with Allen Bradley PLC 5 and SLC 500 using RS Logix software. Also upgraded AB Panelview 1200 with PDS program.

Ford Bacon & Davis Engineering December 1998 – May 1999

Monroe, LA Title: Senior E/I Designer - Worked under contract to upgrade the process controls for a Koch ammonia plant. Responsible for converting existing control panel motor & process controls from an existing panel board to a DCS and PLC system. Field verified schematics and loops and developed wiring diagrams to connect to Yokogawa

CS-3000 series DCS system. Also developed connection drawings to wire analog and digital I/O to the Modicon Quantum series PLC. Setup and printed instrument loop reports using Microsoft Access database. Responsible for design and drawing of Marshalling panel to interface field wiring with DCS and PLC termination points and addresses. Relocated and rewired instruments and motor starters to utilize DCS and PLC I/O redundant control through Opto 22 electronic relay cards. Designed Fiber Optic racks to connect to plant data highway system. Fiber Optic system consisted of patch panels, repeaters, multiplex units and converters to transition from Ethernet, 10 base 2, 10 base 5, fiber optic, serial links etc.

Assigned to special projects group. Lead designer for small capital projects for International Paper in Vicksburg, MS, Pine Bluff, AR and Bastrop, LA. Duties included writing scope of work, preparing material lists for procurement, coordination with client at job site, design, supervising CAD operators, installation, and start-up.

Design Lead for Aeration Basin project for International Paper in Bastrop, LA. Duties included design and installation of 4160V power distribution system fed from LP&L substation. Installed two 2500KVA transformers, 2400KVAR capacitor bank, Cutler Hammer MCC section, process and motor controls and an overhead transmission pole line system and protective relays.
