Hold full accountability for performing satellite systems operations, ground systems engineering, and mission management operator functions. Command all state-of-health (SOH) activities for space assets and real-time evaluation of the satellite’s telemetry, tracking, and control (TT&C) applications supporting the SBIRS mission. Monitor satellite telemetry, evaluate alarms for unusual conditions, and report irregular findings while directing daily station operations and coordinating configurations of ground hard ware. Serve as a trainer to instruct multiple lines of personnel how to appropriately respond to payload and satellite anomalies.
Provision ground control technical capabilities by maintaining applications, conducting positional changeovers, configuring ground system assets, scheduling maintenance-related activities, and monitoring system status.
Conduct Fault Detection-Fault Isolation (FDFI) recovery actions and support instantaneous configuration changes to counter data interruptions.
Support playback analysis and perform Air Force satellite control network and relay ground station checks to collect positional information and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Review mission management activities prior to each shift to facilitate information sharing among working groups with a synopsis of planned activities.
Work closely with intelligence sources to coordinate ground and space systems tasks that may be impacted by schedule changes, notify leads, and distribute schedules via CKNet.
Maintain expert knowledge of scheduled tasks to include pre and post-requisites, priorities, and windows of execution to facilitate schedule changes.
