Re-negotiated current supplier contracts, introduced quality audits, and conduct commodity market tests, achieving over $1.8MM of cost savings.

Minimized supplier disruption and global cost increases during Covid, by leveraging the spend in each commodity and maintaining constant contact with all global and domestic suppliers.

Revised all policies and procedures, in order to adapt for significant increases in spend, over the last five years. Trained all new procurement personnel, on interpreting and analyzing all of the MRP systems reports.

Negotiated over three million dollars’ worth of realized savings.

Drove change to enable cost savings both internally and externally with the suppliers.

Achieved over $8MM in savings and cost avoidances by overseeing the $100MM product and plant expansion and negotiating over $45MM in capital equipment and general expansion costs.

Produced annual savings and cost avoidances of $2MM in MRO and commodities, by showing my team of three buyers, how to conduct market studies, to understand where dollars were being spent and provide improved pricing, within those commodities.

Gerdau Ameristeel Incorporated / Procurement/Materials Manager 2007 – 2012

Reduced material purchase costs by 7 percent, for two consecutive years, by initiating cost reduction strategies, for $170MM in purchases.

Increased dollars spent with preferred suppliers from 5% to 67% by executing national contracts.
