Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparation of budgets, budgetary controls forecasting and revenue review.

Preparation of financial reports in accordance with IFRS and IPSAS.

Preparation of monthly management accounts

Developing and monitoring financial policies and procedures.

Participate in strategic and business planning

Preparation of audit documents for both internal and external audit

Reconciling accounts payables before requesting payments from the head office.

Compilation of VAT on or before the 25th of every month and requesting the VAT payment from head office

Preparation of monthly flash results and final accounts with the assistance of the accountant by posting closing entries such as depreciation into Pastel and aligning other overheads and ensuring there is adequate provisions for expenses such as water, electricity and telephone before finalizing monthly accounts

Preparation of monthly audit file

Attending monthly stock takes in shops as a checker and ensuring no obsolete stocks are included

Do inventory valuation every month to determine the cost of sales figure and the closing stock figure by ensuring the quantities and cost are correct and post the opening and closing inventory figures (movement) into Pastel

Intercompany balancing and Call account

Payables and Petty cash requests

Compiling daily sales by extracting from the GAAP system and comparing external deposits with internal deposits and post the revenue figures into Pastel at the end of each month.

Preparation of daily bank reconciliations

Daily capturing of all supplier invoices
