The Associate Director plays a crucial role in the IT Department of Student Auxiliary Enterprises, ensuring that the technology environment meets the organization's strategic and operational needs. This position involves close collaboration with the Information Security team to maintain a fast, reliable, and secure technical infrastructure. Additionally, the Associate Director works with other technology and business leaders to implement strategic technology projects. Key responsibilities include making critical technology decisions, forming strategic partnerships, and guiding architectural choices.

Reporting to the (CEO), the Associate Director of IT is responsible for defining the strategic direction and overseeing the daily operations of the IT infrastructure and staff for Associated Students, Inc. and Beach Shops auxiliary organizations. This role includes supervising a technical team of 6-10 members, including student employees, and managing LAN infrastructure installation, maintenance, support, user computers, POS systems, and applications within retail and campus environments.

Flexibility and Versatility: Perform essential duties, including strategic planning, IT project management, network architecture, hardware and software support, staff oversight, and LAN management.

Technology Services: Assess, develop, implement, and oversee technology services within the organization, including Local Area Network Servers, user computers, POS systems, business applications, and system integration.

Research and Oversight: Direct technological research and oversee work performed by third- party programmers, outside vendors, the Webmaster, and other staff. IT Expertise: Deploy information technology solutions with an understanding of business and management principles, including project management, budgeting, forecasting, and organizational goals.

Security and Preservation: Ensure the security and preservation of company IT assets through asset management, disaster recovery, application currency, data backup, and data confidentiality procedures and compliance.

Project Management: Effectively plan, communicate, implement, and manage projects, staff, and daily work.

Quality of Service: Maintain the quality of service by establishing and enforcing organizational and industry standards, benchmarking, and providing technical and professional training for staff.

Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to organize the work of others and measure outcomes. Additional Requirements:

Database backup and maintain the integrity of the data. Communicate with users on scheduling requirements and job status. Determine points of equipment and program failure and work with analysts or vendors to resolve problems.
