NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEMS JOURNEYMAN IA ANG AUG 2007 - PRESENT

As an Infrastructure Systems Journeyman I manage and monitor secure systems and equipment for the 168th Cyber Operation Squadron; a defensive unit that supports local and federal missions for the Air Force. This mission set includes base data infrastructure, LANs, WANs, network architecture for creating test environments, customer support, system upgrades, vulnerability scanning, firewall integration and management.

When I am mobilized with a Mission Element, I build and monitor a network assessment system(CVA/H) for proper functionality and troubleshooting of system errors. Additionally I take part in operational planning, training, validating efficiencies, and security procedures for IT based systems. Typically managing a million plus in assets for the Air Force and supervising personnel.

NETWORK ENGINEER HCL SEP 2021 - PRESENT

In this role I directly support META through complex incident management and problem resolution for networks, cloud infrastructure, and security plans for the enterprise. I work with LANs, WANs and secure environments. I work with network services such as TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP. I have in-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as firewalls, routers, and printers. I work directly with customers to analyze, troubleshoot, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently. Often fixing WI-FI & assessing infrastructure vulnerabilities. I design and help set-up office environments from the ground up. I analyze, configure, and troubleshoot layer two network protocols and NECC. I managed all servers and systems in the state of Iowa for the Department of Criminal Investigations using facial recognition and fingerprinting. I was a system administrator, creating accounts, managing system permissions and managing users. I was also responsible for planning and executing software & hardware upgrades. NETWORK SYSTEM ADMIN II MANTECH MAY 2020 - MAR 2021

In this contracted role I supported the 132d Wing’s Distributed Training Operations Center (DTOC) squadron. The DTOC supports tactical distributed mission training for the Air Force and DOD Joint Operations. I was responsible for the network security on 2 classified systems which entailed security scans, security patching & updating, tracking, and logging. I managed the electronic and hard copy data backup library, to include network backups, storage of tapes, disks, and other magnetic media utilizing on and off-site storage facilities as required.Additionally I would perform periodic maintenance including hardware and software upgrades/replacement, firmware updates, system configuration changes, troubleshooting, and network expansions. I worked closely with the security office to audit networks for security vulnerabilities and repairs.

ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN DIGITAL TRAFFIC SYSTEMS OCT 2019 - MAY 2020

I worked for the Iowa DOT whose purpose is to support digital billboards and camera systems used for inclement weather, emergency response & planning. I performed computer based electrical troubleshooting and tracking of power issues between site locations. I communicated and monitored the situation until DOT technicians could perform repairs. I was responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance of electronic equipment used for traffic monitoring; sensors, networking equipment, CCTVs, computers, industrial controls, transmitters, and antennas. It was paramount to ensure network security because of the integration with the IDOT system. I additionally assisted with design and maintenance of wireless radios and some CCTV systems. I maintained WAN/LAN devices. I also assisted in creating standard operating procedures and training for said WAN/LAN devices.

DATA CENTER DEPLOYMENT TECHNICIAN MICROSOFT MAY 2017 - OCT 2019

I worked as part of a team to fix and troubleshoot for Microsoft’s business customers via back-end maintenance. We would monitor, track and validate compliance with GDCO business units and service-level policies. I facilitated the overall ticket management process by collecting device information, performing power cycles, swapping failed components, and handling storage media. I was also responsible for evaluating and auditing a wide range of servers & network devices. Additionally I tested and terminated cable, installed racks/ stacks, and performed testing & troubleshooting using standard data center processes. We also helped support the deployment of on-site DC physical infrastructure that included servers, net devices, SANs, Window Server OS, performed parts/component replacement, and physical hardware troubleshooting. I also aided in multiple large scale projects to correct server defects and improve server life which saved millions of dollars in revenue. I would occasionally assist the Asset Management Team with shipping/receiving and inventory management during high demand to balance workplace flow and efficiency.
