Areas of Expertise
CRITICAL THINKING: Having an expert knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program, allows me to administer guidance from of instructions, policies and procedures, which include DODM 5520.32, Executive Orders, Title 32, and CFR Part 117 associated with the program. This valuable guidance is useful when mitigating risk determinations that pertain to the classified and sensitive information critical to our Nation’s security posture often aimed at cyber threats or malware intrusions, and data breaches.
I provide support to the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), more directly to the Facility Clearance Branch (FCB), as I have processed hundreds of security clearance initial requests by using analytical tools and strategies, to include Open-Source Intelligence Collection, which permits me to identify potential foreign ownership and other risk factors. By identifying risk that would impact national security, we can disapprove a business structures clearance eligibility.
CREATIVITY: Having a knack to think outside the box combines career experience with Industrial Security management, and personnel security. Being multi-lingual, I can support the initiatives and operational goals of the United States Army, Air Force, Marines, National Security and DCSA. I often seek additional ways to complete the mission and introduce fresh ideas to my colleagues in effort to streamline the lengthy processes.
COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE: Good customer service is accomplished by maintaining strong, fluent communication skills when dealing with people. Business complexities can often manifest frustration but maintaining a positive and focused outlook to achieve the goal and get the mission accomplished will instill that desired, professional image. I work with clients and office colleagues daily to retrieve, provide and review documentation in order to complete a facility clearance package. Often information I need for tasker is missing so it is my responsibility to clearly explain the process and what is needed in order to submit a package to the next level in the process. I am responsible for safeguarding classified and sensitive correspondence, so constant and concise discussion should be involved when handling the intelligence community’s information.
PROBLEM SOLVING: As I identify discrepancies and concerns throughout the FCL process and daily duties, I stay cognizant of what steps I can include to solve or mediate the problem(s) without delaying or affecting someone else workspace. I incorporate sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives. I also make recommendations for corporate entities to resolve issues at their end, then resubmit the required information back to me in a streamline manner to eliminate unnecessary steps. Optimization is key to problem solving.
LEADERSHIP: As head of quality assurance linguists in Afghanistan during hostile situations during 2010-2012, I supervised more than 20 Afghan locals who spoke English, Pashto and Dari, under the authority of the U.S. Air Force military doctrine. I conducted oversight and approved final translation doctrinal products to include field manuals and standard operating procedures relative to the maintenance operation and loading and unloading equipment for rotary and fix-wing aircraft that included MI-17 Transport Helo; MI-35 Attack Helo; UH-60 Blackhawk Helo; CH-47 Chinook Helo; and C-130 transport planes. As a result of this leadership, was awarded coin of recognition and Mission Essential Personnel Letter of Appreciation.
