Clinical Rotations:

Mercy Hospital St Louis, Inpatient Behavioral Health, Acute Care. 5/29/2023 to 8/5/2023. Psychopathology and Diagnostic Reasoning Practicum, 160 supervised clinical hours. The population I worked with were child/adolescents, adults, and older adults, with up to 20 patients seen daily. Disorders treated include substance abuse, eating, psychotic, anxiety, mood, neurocognitive, neurodevelopmental, and others. With the supervision of my preceptor, an experienced psychiatrist, I completed assessments, assist in formulating diagnoses, medication management, treatment choices, deciding when to make referrals, and documenting in patients’ charts, cosigned by my preceptor.

Mercy Hospital St Louis, Inpatient Behavioral Health, Acute Care, 8/28/2023 to 10/04/2023, Psychotherapy and Diagnostic Reasoning Practicum, 160 supervised clinical hours. The population of focus were child/adolescents, adults, and older adults. The number of patients seen daily was between 8 to 15. I did patient assessments, performed group therapy, assisted in individual therapy, observed in family therapy sessions, participated in formulating referrals, and placements, and documenting in patients’ charts, cosigned by my preceptor who is an experienced Licensed Social Worker.

Premier Psychiatric and Sleep Medicine, Private practice, 10/20/2023 to 02/03/2024. Across Lifespan I, 160 supervised clinical hours, telehealth and onsite, the population seen were child/adolescents, adults, and older adults. The number of patients seen daily was between 10 to 20, depending on my preceptors’ working hours, for that day. I did assessments, assisted in formulating diagnoses, suggestions on medication management, treatment choices, and deciding when to make referrals. Disorders such as sleep, eating, substance use, depression, anxiety, neurodevelopmental, neurocognitive, and psychotic are treated.

Premier Psychiatric and Sleep Medicine, Private Practice, 02/26/2024 to 04/30/2024. Across the Lifespan II, I did 160 supervised clinical hours, telehealth and onsite, the population seen were child/adolescents, adults, and older adults. The number of patients seen daily was between 8 to 15, depending on my preceptors’ working hours, for that day, and the hours I commit to for that day. I did assessments, assisted in formulating diagnoses, suggestions on medication management, treatment choices, documenting, and deciding when to make referrals. I was allowed more autonomy than was allowed in the previous course. Disorders such as sleep, eating, substance use, depression, anxiety, neurodevelopmental, neurocognitive, and psychotic were treated.

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting assessments, medication administration, evaluating care. Managing patients with psychiatric/behavioral disorders, substance use disorders and withdrawal. Educate patients about medications and side effects, counselling, attentive listening, patient advocacy, ensuring that all patients and staff are safe, while working as a team.
