Data Engineer October 2020 – February 2025

Led project to automate manual processing of csv-based data into BigQuery for multiple vendors. Collaborated with users to build requirements for multiple organizations to send their point-of-sale data for import. Solutions built using Liquibase for Hormel’s CI/CD compliance.

Updated existing process using query optimization, reducing runtime of ETL job by 1.5 hours each daily run. By migrating from a file-based import process to a direct connection to vendor data, the process was updated making it more efficient and cut down on hours of troubleshooting every month.

Allowed business users access to internal and external data on the same platform by combining multiple sources of data into one consolidated Tableau dashboard. After building reports for projects, opened access to power users to create their own reports from Self Service data sources.
