Key Experience :

I have worked for Cementation Mining/Skanska on and off for over 40 years and have extensive hands-on experience, proficient in ground water control, high pressure grout injection against major water inflows gained by working on civil, mining TBM drives and NATM/SCL tunnelling projects around the world.

Including all aspects of Civil ground engineering & building works

Concrete/shuttering works involving construction of Tunnel portal and diaphragm walls,

I have played a key role as Site Manager in carrying out several large tunnel refurbishment projects for both National Grid Transco (NGT) and Network Rail.

Apart from projects at Winsford Salt mine, the Isle of Grain power station, Parys Mountain in Anglesey and Conwy, my work has taken me to Ireland, Hong Kong, Turkey, Malaysia and India.

I have experience and skills in large scale civils engineering works, i.e.: concrete works shuttering works, also operating and training on various plant i.e. Eimco Rocker Shovel, Cat Loader, Various Drill Rigs, Loco’s, TBM’s and Cryderman operating units. I am competent in hard rock tunnelling, shaft sinking, high pressure grouting, shotcreting, control of water inflows, TBM drives, drill and fire, NATM. I am a committed team member and my supervisory skills have been utilised in the training of local labour on various plant and equipment such as twin and single piston Hydro/Electric High Pressure grouting units, Pneumatic grouting units and 110volt Chemical grout pumps.

Supervising the concrete lining of the shaft using steel tubbing shutters in 6 circular sections, so a 6 mt deep pour of concrete sent through steel pipes into the shaft which was approx. 1500mts deep and then a large loading pocket cut out of the side wall of the shaft approx. 15mts x 20mts with concrete base and walls
