Experience Summary
Peter Ufret has extensive experience with IT and management which has involved many different protocols, network topology configurations, designing, team management and deployment. He has specific and in-depth working experience with IP, VOIP, VPN, Data warehousing, Network Security, Cloud Services and Telecom services. When it comes to presenting and developing lines of communications Peter interacts with C levels as well as with the support and finance people he educates and informs on all levels effectively, that is shown in his ability to train and acquire finance and support for his projects. A large portion of the projects he has been involved with have included project management, project deployment plans and data center design and configurations as well as meeting timeliness and budget requirements. The development of support and maintenance staff for many of the projects have been established and trained by him as well. He has a statement that he follows in all his endeavors” no matter how great a design is or technically advanced if you cannot show an ROI over a 3 to 5 year life-cycle it won’t come to fruition and this achieved by gaining support through education and financial agreement of effected parties.”

Telecom, Data, Systems management and design services
Design and maintenance of Data centers, telecom, corporate functionality systems such as data storage and recovery, Load balancing and application distribution utilizing Cisco ACE and F5 equipment. Email and desktop support. This is accomplished by the management of design teams, maintenance teams and vendor management. Along with purchasing and budget management
Major accomplishments:
Design and maintenance of Data centers
Which consist of cluster farms, data storage and warehouse systems (of 30 terabytes EMC Gear.) Security was achieved with Sonicwall and checkpoint for application control. Core hardware consisted of Cisco Nexus, Dell Server and Fiber Matrix Switches. Load balancing was achieved with CISCO ACE and F5 equipment and applications. All latest Cisco Hardware Nexus line, Catalyst line of switches and core Cisco Routers.
Corporate telecom systems
With multiple PBX servers for redundancy. Complete IVR development, VOIP deployment and maintenance. Coordinate voice upgrade, implementation, and test plans as well as level 3 support and service. Trained helpdesk support engineers to handle end user issues. Also developed individual department needs based on there specific needs for VIR and call routing, while maintaining all the regulatory needs to meet or surpass the guidelines directed by the financial regulatory groups that we have to comply with.
Clustering and Load balancing
Web farms for the distribution and interaction of the corporate to public interaction. The web presence was managed with CISCO CSS and Windows clustering, Oracle Rack with 10g (production) and 11 (development) both designed and maintained on windows and Linux platforms. Load balancing is accomplished through windows and Big IP, CISCO ACE usage.
VMware
Consolidation of servers, the design and implementation for redundancy and failover. The images where designed to be stored and replicated on the EMC storage.
Network monitoring and Security
This is accomplished with windows products for application monitoring and Sonicwall is used for the network devices and interfaces. 24 by 7 NOC
Desktop Support
Sys aid is used to maintain and manage the desktop support issues established a help desk and ticketing system for tracking and maintenance of corporate needs.
Contract negations with vendors
Negotiated an unlimited oracle licensing for a set amount of money and annual maintenance support for 3 years, corporate savings where well in the tens of millions. As well as negotiating line of credit, discount and terms with Dell.
The company was established with main contract being Revolution money LLC which was Gratis card prior to that. They felt they needed to have the IT support and staff a part of their company. So an agreement was made to absorb USMS into theirs. I was made VP of infrastructure reporting to CTO (Patrick Graf) and my staff was absorbed as well.

Network Redesign and Conversion Jacksonville, FL
The network infrastructure was being converted to fast Ethernet and ATM
PROJECTS:
Conversion of all water treatment plants and wastewater plants to a solid IP network with a separate backbone and redundant monitoring systems, with the consideration of SCADA. Design, documentation, and training of staff for future support of the new network - Infrastructure design for the IP based power measurement system. Prototype for the implementation of 3 phase power meter, analyzer and controller. With the understanding of future growth to the 8500 ION socket-mounted meter, along with the distribution and redundancy of the servers and monitoring software such as Pegasus, etc.
VPN (virtual private network) - The design and implementation of Internet authentication for incoming employee’s and clients. Cisco based hardware with Netscape security authentication.
Departure: Project completed
Barnett Bank, NationsBank, Bank of America, (Manager IT Engineering) 09/1998 – 04/2000
Jacksonville, FL
Network Design Review - Take designs that are submitted and review the feasibility and implementation of the design, and lead the implementation team.
Trouble shooting and repair - Problems that have been escalated to a priority one, and authority to resolve at any cost (time or money.)
Training - The training of group members to improve the quality of service which our group provided. Along with the advancement of the possible services to be offered by the group.
PROJECTS:
Network monitoring - The design and cost evaluation of different options for hardware monitoring of the network. While keeping in mind cost and growth, along with the most usable platform possible (allowing the ability to meet the needs of several groups rather then just monitoring and trouble shooting such as auditing and circuit provisioning.
ATM Cloud - The design and installation of an interstate ATM cloud in Florida. This required design and state travel to actually install the ATM hardware. It was done this way due to the fact that the routers being modified were production routers. (no site failures)
Automated teller machine conversion - The design and project management of ATM cut over, along with packet redesign to limit the time delay in transaction. Thus limiting the possible loss of revenue due to cyber transfer time.
Data depository convergence - Design and implement the infrastructure for the finical data servers and storage facilities. Implementing a back up and data storage along with eliminating the systems that where redundant and not needed to facilitate the company’s operations. (this detail was put in place due to the multiply data serve farms identified due to the mergers)
Departure: The merger of the three banks were complete
AT&T Solutions (CSX), (Network Architect and engineering) 04/1997 – 09/1998
Jacksonville, FL
Network Design - Redesign of current network and designing for future implementation.
Tier 3 engineer - Critical issue resolutions, whether hardware or software resolution required.
System Impact evaluation - The evaluation of software and new hardware when put into production within the network.
Cost evaluation and Scheduling/Project management - The evaluation of cost for implementation and conversion of designs and re-configurations of the network, also scheduling for engineering staff for cut-over and implementations.
The AT&T Solutions group
He represented and took care of the CSX Network (Railroad Company). The Network consisted of several hundred remote sites and five major sites. The network has every major protocol used, DecNet, SNA, Banyanvines, TCP/IP, Net BEUI. The company also consists heavily of Windows NT and Novell, they also went to VPN (virtual private network) setup. The Media transportation types are of every configuration (FIDDI, ATM, Fast Ethernet, Ethernet, Token Ring) and the company consists equally of Ethernet and Token Ring, with Ethernet taking over the Token Ring. There is also a high priority of redundancy. The connection to the remote sites are done primarily with frame relay and ISDN, 1fbs as back ups.
PROJECTS:
Banyanvines - The total reconfiguration of the Banyanvines network.
Java: Implementation of Java work stations (4200 units)
Network standardization - Network needed a standard for remote sites. hardware and software considerations. (cost, implementation schedule)
Network consolidation - The flatting of the network and redistribution of IP addressing to get rid of the non-contiguous networks. With also removal and consolidation of routers in the remote locations.
Slow network response - The determination of why our network was having delay in the sites which contained mainframe connectivity, dumb terminal sessions and networked PC sessions. Every component was tested to find the problem from the desktop through the frame relay cloud to the routers. (Trouble shooting, testing, evaluation of findings, implementation planner to correct).
Departure: The contract was lost to MCI and their goal was to change all hardware away from Cisco.
