Education:

Graduate of Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Studies include Payroll, Cost Accounting, Advanced Bookkeeping, Inventory Control, Profit & Loss Statements, Tax Preparations, Marketing plus business education basics.

Business History:

After graduation I opened Willmeth Craft & Things in The Mall, Hays Kansas. I was able to use my accounting education in real life experiences. The accounting systems for the new retail store was developed from scratch. Cost accounting was also implemented for the craft projects being sold. The craft business slowed down after 5 years so I did not renew my lease.

I moved to Kansas City to start working for Flower City to operate their first “Christmas On The Mall” seasonal retail store. For the next 5 years I set up temporary seasonal stores, trained new store employees and new supervisors. After the stores were opened, I supervised 10 stores until their closing in January. At their peak we operated 72 seasonal Mall Christmas stores in the USA.

I moved to Houston, Texas to established my own stores called “A Touch of Christmas”. I leased temporary inline retail spaces (2500-5000sq.ft.) in southern regional malls during the Christmas holiday season. I did all the Accounting, Taxes, Reports and Payroll for all the stores.

In 2002 a Christmas web site was designed. https://www.webechristmas.com/. The site was listed on Google as the “Best of the Web”. The web site was so profitable that I stopped operating the seasonal mall stores. I kept books for the warehouse, it’s inventory, reports, payroll and shipping.

In July of 2013 two acers of land was purchased in Norton, Kansas. A 12,000-sq. ft. warehouse was built for storing the internet inventory. Seven million shoppers visited the site during the holiday season. We processed up to 500 orders daily. I continued to do all the Bookkeeping for the new warehouse activities.

In September 2020 I sold my warehouse and Christmas business and moved to Tucson Arizona to be closer to my brother and sister.
