1). Furniture Assessment:
Inspection and Evaluation: Examine furniture to identify issues such as worn-out fabric, damaged frames, or broken springs. Determine what needs repair or replacement.
Condition Assessment: Check the state of different components of the furniture, like the frame (wood or metal), springs (for support), padding (for comfort), and the upholstery fabric (for appearance and durability). 2). Material Selection:
Recommendation and Selection: Choose suitable materials for upholstering based on the furniture’s needs and client preferences. This includes selecting fabrics, leathers, and padding materials.
Sourcing Materials: Find and purchase the right materials, ensuring quality and appropriateness for the project. Maintain a stock of frequently used materials.
3). Preparation:
Removing Old Upholstery: Carefully strip away old fabric, padding, and any damaged components from the furniture.
Repairing Frames: Fix or strengthen the underlying structure of the furniture if it is damaged or weak, ensuring it is stable before applying new upholstery.
4.) Upholstering:
Cutting and Shaping: Measure and cut new upholstery materials to fit the furniture precisely.
