Senior Electrical Designer

Good afternoon, trust all is well.

My name is Mark A. Donato, a Senior Electrical Designer with almost 30 years in the consulting engineering field. I’m originally from Erie, Pa., and moved to Charlotte in 1987, started my career as a

draftsman, went back to UNCC for electrical engineering and worked my way up from there. Over the last eight years, I’ve developed a working knowledge of REVIT and am able to produce electrical construction documents. Also have around 30 years of experience with AutoCAD Have a cradle to grave skill set. My project duties often include developing the electrical scope for the project, specifications, design and production of construction documents, photometric and load calculations, possible project budget costs, permitting, review of shop drawings, review of pay applications, contract administration and commissioning.

Additions and renovations are my specialty. Seem to have a knack for gaining an understanding of the existing electrical and special system through careful study of the existing drawings and field survey information. Also have experience with health care, education, various types of commercial and retail, as well as hospitality and multi-family projects. I have some experience with industrial projects as well.
