Experience:
Construction Panagakis Construction - Residential June 2017-Present Professional builder: As licensed by the state of Georgia and South Carolina practicing as licensed builder, I am authorized to perform all aspects of residential and light commercial construction under chapter 59 inclusive to building types 3 - 5. I am further licensed to practice HVAC, electrical and plumbing mechanical systems. The projects that I have constructed are existing build-out re-developmental properties and ground-up new build custom homes. Panagakis Consulting, LLC . September 2001- June 2017 Estimator: While preparing estimates for construction companies and material suppliers throughout Georgia and South Carolina, I have worked as a private contractor. My efforts were to provide estimating services so that I would supplement my clients’ departmental staff by increasing their bidding capacity and overall sales volume, substantiate any in-house estimating errors, generate post bid value engineering cost modifications, and establish project scheduling. I also provided expert witness services in dispute matters. Bibler Masonry, Inc . August 1997-September 2001
Chief senior estimator and project manager: My work at this unit masonry construction company was to direct a staff of estimators into fulfilling a projected number of annual sales. Through a team effort we generated $30 million dollars in sales in 2001. The company grew from constructing $200 - $500 - thousand-dollar single value contracts to having the bonding capacity to engage in much larger contracts. BMI competed with more established masonry subcontractors. We ended 2001 contracting $1-5 million-dollar single valued projects. These were private, commercial, industrial, and government project types being mostly hard bid with nearly 20 percent total contracts being negotiated. Doxa Inc . June 1991- July 1997
Managing partner: This construction company was a unit tile and cut stone entity that mostly hard bid private, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. It generated approximately $1.3 million dollars in annual sales. Page2.
Brick Institute of America, Southeast Division July 1987-June 1991 Lobbyist / Consultant: While representing eight South Carolina brick manufacturers, I promoted appropriate masonry design theory by training architects, engineers, and masonry subcontractors in the correct BIA engineered technological and methodological protocol. As I formed industry relationships, I was able to educate professionals in the proper way of utilizing brick. I also spoke at conferences and emporiums instructing large groups of professionals on new masonry technology, products, and specifying brick unit masonry. This education campaign strategy gave designers confidence to once again specify brick. While other materials were dominating market share, my plan was to inform those in the masonry business proper brick installation by presenting the knowledge of engineered means and methods of appropriate brick cladding. After implementing this plan, a renaissance of awareness occurred that began to decrease masonry failures. The South Carolina Brick Association soon announced an increase in brick production that continued to bring back lost market share. My work paid off as I was able to heighten public awareness of proper brick installation that changed the attitude of brick being a difficult material to work with. Architecture Freeman-Major Architects, PA., and Neal-Prince & Partners, Inc . Sept 1980– July 1987 Designer-artist: As an artist while working in each of the architectural firms above, I created scaled presentation drawings, perspectives, paintings, and built 3-D models during the design development process. I also generated construction working drawings and specification documents. Compute software opperated 1. Microsoft Office Suite
2. Project Architect and Auto Cad (architectural drafting) 3. Custom Masonry Estimating Program – Excell (integrated with estimating w/ accounting) 4. Timberline Estimating Program (general contractor) 5. Xactimate (insurance claims)
6. Builder trend program (residential builder)
Personal intrest I enjoy creativity. Through reading, writing, creating fine art such as drawing and paintings, and building custom furniture, I stay busy by learning at least three new things each day. I also appreciate spending time in nature exploring the North Georgia Appalachian Mountains with my daughter. End.
