As the lead artisan, I am responsible the following duties
• Supervise and train apprentices, Junior electricians and staff of over forty people at the Client Service Centre.
• Assist the Client Services Officer in the day to day running of the centre
• Attend to and resolve Client fault reports to stipulated periods as prescribed in the company Client’s charter.
• Do site visits and prepare bill of quantities and quotations upto project implementation.
• Carry out substation load readings and prepare equipment maintenance schedules for transformers, high voltage circuit breakers (st6, vacuum and oil), metering units and network overhead lines
• Preparing and Submission of Centre monitoring reports
• Ensuring that all installed equipment is being maintained according to specifications.
• Ensuring that set deadlines are met on company and customer driven projects.
• Sourcing of required materials for projects and maintenance.
• Utilise SAP SYSTEM for plant maintenance materials management (stores) and Human Capital Management.
• Advising external clients of power interruptions that are likely to affect them .

• Connection of new points of supply with postpaid meters, prepaid meters CT metering and metering units.
• Carrying out planned and breakdown maintenance on the network equipment including LT and HT lines upto 33kv, power transformers circuit breakers, ring main units, sectionalized, CT metering units and voltage transformers and completing all relevant documentation.
• Enforcing the implementation of safety rules and assisting in carrying out of authorization tests to enables staff to carry out safe operations on the distribution network.
• Enforcing the provisions of the Health and Safety Regulations and Electricity Act. Identifying and educating subordinates of possible safety hazards and advising on safety precautions that must be taken.
