EXPERIENCE
NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge Auburn and Huntsville, Al August 2023 – April 2024
Senior Design Project
Tasked with designing and building a human powered rover capable of traversing an obstacle course while completing tasks at regular intervals.
Served as Student Safety Officer, ensuring all design decisions fell within HERC safety guidelines and minimizing risk to team members in both procedure and operation.
Primary machinist and welder, manufacturing numerous parts for the rover including upgraded mounts for the axle bearings, hubs for the wheels, and other miscellaneous parts.
Assisted in creation of the rover’s full CAD model using SolidWorks, as well as designing and 3D printing parts such as the chain tensioners and mounting brackets.
Acted as one of the two rover pilots during the competition itself, with the team placing in the top 15 within the collegiate division.
