and to face a long- term situation of world crisis in an organized manner, it is essential to have an economic and social strategy that contains the key actions on which efforts should be focused.” Cuba: U.S. Policy Overview
The Cuban economy is being hard-hit by the economic shutdown associated with the Coronavirus Disease 2019
(COVID-19) pandemic; Venezuela’s economic crisis, which has reduced Venezuelan financial support; and U.S. economic sanctions. The Cuban government reports the economy contracted 11% in 2020, and the Economist Intelligence Unit projects 2.2% growth in 2021. In January 2021, Cuba eliminated its dual currency system; the long debated reform has spurred in flacon, but economists maintain it should boost productivity in the long term.
LATIN AMERICA AND CARIBBEAN NDCs:
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DECISION-MAKER
The La n America and the Caribbean region is a good example of the threat posed by climate change and the opportunities that aggressive climate ac on offers, being a vulnerable and biodiversity-rich region. Many governments have stepped forward with ambitious climate plans – but now they must turn those plans into ac on. And the ones who are yet to do so must follow suit. The region must appreciate that a new global economic system, framed by climate considerations, is star ng to form. Not to consider this is to jeopardize the region’s future development.
MY FIRST DIPLOMATIC MISSION: THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA On October 13, 2014, the President, Susilo Bambang, took his Credentials to Yudoyono and began his official work as Ambassador. Let me summarize the things that remain in my mind about friendship. Indonesia is made up of more than 17,000 islands, and about 6,000 of them have a population and administrative units, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Indian Ocean to the west. Since independence, Indonesian foreign relations have adhered to a
"free and active" foreign policy, seeking to play a role in regional affairs commensurate with its size and location but avoiding involvement in conflicts among major powers. Indonesian foreign policy under the
"New Order" government of President Suharto moved away from the stridently anti-Western, anti-American posturing that characterized the latter part of the Sukarno era. Following Suharto's ouster in 1998, Indonesia's government has preserved the broad outlines of Suharto's independent, moderate foreign policy.
60 YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP Chronicle of bilateral relations 1960 – 2020 This book is one of the important initiated activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Cuba and to further develop friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Cuba in such as an important source of contribution to the cause.
On the eve of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, I acknowledge that Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Cuba, Ms. Sh. Battsetseg did a great input. PARTNERSHIP EXPERINCES:

Latin America's Energy Future
This working paper presents a survey of the changes in La n America’s energy consumption over the last 30 years, before considering the trends that will affect the region in the coming decades. It highlights several important issues, including the growing demand for oil, which has prompted a resurgence of resource nationalism and the revitalization of national oil companies in the region. Regional oil policy has also been
boosted by the growth of China, which is now a major player in the La n American
energy sector, as both consumer and financier. Natural gas consumption has also grown in recent years, and the discovery of large non-conventional gas reserves will also alter the energy landscape.
Policies to combat change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and use clean energy sources Ac on in La n America and the Caribbean In response, the region’s countries are leading the way in making the vision of climate-smart development a reality, moving with increasing urgency to develop more sustainable energy and transport systems; to strengthen the resilience of their cities; to enhance nature-based solutions to climate mi gyration and adaptation in forests, oceans, and agriculture; and to prepare people, public services, and infrastructure for the climate shocks to come.
These countries submitted climate ac on pledges with Nationally Determined Contributions in the run-up to the historic Paris Agreement at COP21, and they are now raising their climate ambitions even further by submitting revised NDCs under the same process.
Cuba, present and future: main legislative reforms adopted in 2020 As soon as COVID-19 appeared in the world, the Cuban Government approve d a Plan for the Prevention on and Control of Coronavirus, covering all sectors of society. Similarly, Cuba has been working on the postCOVID-19 recovery phase, as well as on the Guide lines for the 2021 Economic Plan and State Budget, which are part of the country's overall strategy. According to the Special Tabloid: Cuba and its Economic and Social Challenge: “In order to achieve an economic recovery and to face a long- term situation of world crisis in an organized manner, it is essential to have an economic and social strategy that contains the key actions on which efforts should be focused.”
