Duties: Supervise 5 Case Managers. Conduct appraisals of 5 case managers.
Review cases, approve service plans-Meals on Wheels, Housekeeping/personal care.
Do intakes to find eligibility for the above mentioned services, communicate with other
service providers. Assign cases, train new and current employees, prepare reports,
oversee quality assurance of case management services, and supervise Interns from
Columbia University. I report to the Project director.
2009-2013: On top of my supervisory position, I was Field Instructor for Columbia
University students at Project Pilot.
2015: On top of my supervisory position, I was Field Instructor for New York University
student at Project pilot.
2000-2008: Coordinator, Case Assistance and Meals on Wheels- STAR Senior Center,
NY, NY
Duties: Coordinated Home Delivered Meals and Case Assistance services to seniors,
Supervised staff, reviewed cases, prepared monthly case reviews, assigned cases,
conducted staff training on short and long term service plans, maintained complete
service records. Task supervised Intern Students from Yeshiva University. I reported to
the Executive Director.

Duties: Supervised Housing staff, reviewed cases in collaboration with Case Managers,
Managed the re-housing of the homeless to permanent housing, and coordinated the after
care program to link the resettled homeless to their local services. I reported to the
Director of Homeless Services.
1983-1989: Coordinator, Ethiopian Community Mutual Assistance Association- NY, NY
Duties: Coordinated all services- counseling refugees and secondary migrants in the New
York area. Emphasis was on employability plan and career goals, assessment of refugees
skills and their application to the local job market, assessed obstacles to employment,
language ability and carried out orientation programs. This aspect of the project was
designed to place refugees in jobs in the New York City area.
1977-1982: Liaison Officer for the Sudanese commission for Refugees in Sudan Gedaref Area
Worked with the Assistance commissioner for Refugees in Easter Sudan resettling refugees from Ethiopia.
I worked as a link between the Sudanese and the refugees so that they would have a safe and peaceful resettlement.
