CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Along with prior military experience, Mr. Pirtle has been involved in the field of information technology for the previous 30+ years in various capacities. He currently working as a T2 Analyst for the Army IPPS-A(Integrated pay and personnel for the US Army) program.

Prior to this position, Mr. Pirtle was the Task Lead at HQSU for FBI HQ in Washington D.C. Daily responsibilities included, but were not limited to, managing 50 + employees along with software and hardware installation and completion of various trouble tickets and management of contract personnel. He has worked as an intrusion detection analyst for the Network Infrastructure Services Agency at the Pentagon. While working as a signals intelligence operator, he developed skills in identifying, analyzing and reporting on electronic emissions. He is skilled at using analytical aids and related reference material, which helped aid in signal abnormalities. While working as a security analyst, he has broadened his knowledge of the UNIX environment and has vast familiarity and/or experience using the following network protocols: TCP/IP, SMTP,SNMP,SSH, FTP, TELNET and NET FORENSICS. He is continuing to implement and improve his skills and knowledge base while providing assistance and support to all FBI personnel while working as a Senior Support Technician at the JEH buiding in Washington, D.C..

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

T2 Analyst - April 2020 – present

This position entails, but is NOT limited to assisting multiple military members with issues pertaining to pay, assignments, benefits, creating various access accounts and interacting with customers and providing assistance with other situations that may arise. This position utilizes a case management system that allows T2 analysts to address the needs of all members of the U.S. Army in a timely fashion. This position requires patience and diligence as we strive to provide the best in customer service to those that serve our country. This position allows full utilization of the Peoplesoft operation systems and familiarity of virtual desktop interfaces(VDI).

Task Lead/Queue Manager

May 2015 – April 2020

Manages and oversees all contractor technicians assigned to the JEH HQ facility and surrounding off sites. Plans, staffs, interviews, selects, evaluates, trains, monitors and directs the contractor Tier II staff at JEH HQ. Monitors ticket closure rates, performance related Service Level Agreements, compiles reports on performance metrics to monitor or increase staff performance while ensuring SLA’s are met and/or exceeded for providing reports to FBI Managers. Also responsible for monitoring the FBI’s ticketing system to identify any trends or inconsistencies, and providing detailed reports to management. Also responsible for providing direction, guidance, and support to staff members. Responsible for encouraging, rewarding and motivating staff upon their recognizing

and documenting process improvements. Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with staff, customers and end-users. Responsible for the support of all three enclaves. Also responsible for knowing and sharing in depth knowledge and experience of DOJ/FBI rules, regulations and procedures as well as FBI priorities, goals and objectives.

Senior Support Technician/Assistant Task Manager

Responsible for software/hardware installation and maintenance. Also responsible for completion of a wide array of computer related trouble tickets. This includes, but is not limited to laptop and desktop system imaging, password resets, software updates, printer installations, motherboard and power supply installations, user instruction, basic troubleshooting for any and all computer systems as well as computer setup and office moves. Also utilizes NetOp (remote control software) for various software installations. I have also developed management skills by working as part-time task manager for IMTAS Corp sharing responsibility for 38+ imtas contract personnel.

Responsible for maintaining and administering microcomputer technical support service and assistance to all Bureau personnel located at the JEH building and surrounding offsite facilities. Assisted in developing comprehensive service-based solutions in areas of internetworking, Microsoft technology and security which coordinate with individual client business. Monitored and installed intrusion detection software/systems(Dragon,Sourcefire). Assisted with implementation of

new and improved network infrastructures by analyzing the operational components of local and wide area networks. Assisted with tests of new hardware and software along with configuring network operating system environments.

Mar 1999-Nov 2002. SETA Corp. McLean, VA Security/Intrusion Detection Analyst

While working for the Network Infrastructure Services Agency at the Pentagon. Daily monitors computer networks directly on the ARMY, Office of the Secretary of Defense(OSD) and AIR FORCE backbone FDDI rings. Verifies the integrity of Pentagon-wide backbone networks through the use of

various dispersed intrusion detection systems(Real Secure, Manhunt, Real secure Site Protector, Argus and various other freeware systems). Daily monitors intrusion detection systems for any hostile activity (probes, port scans, viruses, security breaches, compromised systems) from foreign and local hosts. Maintains the hardware and software which is directly involved in the monitoring effort. Monitored the status of Cisco routers and switches. Monitored messages delivered and received by NIPRNET and SIPRNET services. Creates daily and monthly briefing reports for the purpose of notifying senior personnel of any and all significant changes on the monitored network. Aids senior co-workers by providing assistance in determining the cause and cure of system related day-to-day problems. Contacts system administrators and writes security incident reports as required in the investigation of incidents that may arise. Interacts daily with the Computer Incident Response (CIRT) team in a joint effort to combat security incidents. Troubleshoots connectivity problems as needed. Utilizes tools such as NSLOOKUP, TCPDUMP, and NBTSTAT.

Responsible for distribution of highly classified government affiliated cable telegrams, while working as a computer operator.

July 1988-July1998. United States Air Force:

Worked in the field of Communications (COMINT) and Signals (SIGINT) intelligence as a Printer Systems Operator. Operated many different types of complex computer-based systems in the signals intelligence community. Reported the activities of monitored signals to senior military personnel.

Maintained database of various signal types and signal activities using computer and hard copy products. Used equipment such as de-modulators, analog recorders, and spectrum analyzers to process signals and for the purpose of signal/traffic analysis. Monitored satellite communications between various networks. Tuned receivers and antennae for best signal reception. Extracted electromagnetic emissions from real-time and recorded media and performed technical and data
