EUROMS & EARS are two individual modules in the project. Euroms termed as European Order management system. Euroms in turn grouped into several other modules, which are Order management, Pricing, Shipping, and Invoicing. EARS termed as European Accounts receivable system. Ears, is the system to manage the customer's accounts and customer's payments. The core module in EUROMS is invoicing, which is meant for generating the bill to the customer, for the goods delivered. Ears is having interrelation with the Invoicing module, through which it knows the status of the invoice, whether it is paid or not. In simplified terms, the scope of EARS is to collect money from customers in the best way possible, and to manage problems that could arise with customers' delays in the payments. The most important purpose of EARS is to optimize 3M internal accounting system and to manage problems with payments in the best way possible. Each invoice-to customer in EII has an Account in EARS system in which EARS Items (Invoice, Payment, Discrepancy, interest note etc.) are created.
