Ryder Logistics – West Palm Beach, FL 2023-Present Logistics Manager

I Oversee Ryders largest dedicated services division covering from Boca Raton up to Sebastian Fl. I manage 30 DOT/CDL qualified drivers along with warehouse personnel that ensure pickup, and deliveries are done in a seven day a week operation.

I am responsible for making sure our customer needs are met based on the guidelines that were put in place within the original contractual commitments. This includes P&L, strict safety requirements, KPI’s and the managing and training of route optimization software that requires dynamic scheduling, trips management while making sure DOT regulations are being met on a weekly basis. I am also responsible for monitoring our Lytx (camera) technology that ensures our drivers are meeting the safety expectations that help us to be incident/accident free.

Transportation Manager

Maintained full responsibility for managing and enhancing the company’s largest distribution network, including inventory, and the hiring and managing of a fleet of drivers that reached just over 50 covering South Florida and the West Coast up to Port Charlotte. Worked closely with sales to coordinate delivery to thousands of customers across South Florida including the Caribbean. We utilized dispatch/routing software to optimize our entire fleet. I trained many of our personnel on these programs and implemented the distribution network within our Private Fleet. I also was responsible for outsourcing through third-party providers, including rate negotiation and courier services when needed. I implemented our lease negotiations and helped to delegate as well as train key personnel on our DOT/CSA standards.

Key Achievements:

Designed new routing format resulting in annual savings of $50K through the elimination of a courier service.

Selected as a Project Manager for relocation to new facilities, choosing location and building as well as making sure our business/operational needs were being met.

Implemented Netradyne an inside cab as well as outside cab camera system to better manage safety protocols.

I became a certified Smith Systems instructor during my tenure with McKesson; this helped me to train drivers on the fundamentals of staying accident free when initiating ride-along(s). I also implemented safety policies that increased protection for employees, customers, vehicles and cargo.

I oversaw maintenance and inventory of 75 trailers and 50 tractors along with approximately 60 drivers depending on volume. We began by utilizing route optimization software (Direct Route-Appian Systems) to dispatch/load across Central and South Florida. Operations Manager

Managed operations center servicing Priority Mail contract with U.S. Post Office. Supervised crews of 50-75 employees in a large sortation center and liaised with USPS in providing expedited service for Priority mail. Worked with third party logistics providers for both inbound and outbound mail to ensure proper sorting/routing and deliveries. Ensured performance goals were met or exceeded. Provided strong central support to retail outlets that processed mail and postal products. Consulted with 3-PL consolidators using postal service for mail pickup and delivery.
