At Azkoul my title was Media Artist/Art Director. As a Media Artist I meet with clients and take their concepts from rough stage to a final product. Through this process I am responsible for everything from the creative aspects and project managing to outsourcing and finally the programming for CD-ROM, DVD or the web. I am also responsible for producing visual graphics for all motion media including 2D or 3D animation.

Work History:

2010 Became a full-time freelancer and have been freelancing ever since. International Master Products 1992–1995 Illustrator As the first Graphic Artist hired by the company, I had to develop the department from the ground up. I was responsible for the purchase of hardware and software as well as hiring additional sta and training. My responsibilities included the development of all client designs, marketing media, and point of purchase designs.

Bachelors Degree in Illustration Minor in Graphic Arts. Richard Barkel is a media artist based in Big Rapids, Michigan with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He has worked on a wide variety of projects from 2D animations and illustrations, to 3D videos and character animations. He works with companies directly and through marketing agencies, and many become regular clients. Most projects are completed with Cinema4D and Adobe after e ects, check the list if you need a certain software, chances are he's used it. In 2023, Richard earned a Gold Tele for the video "The World's Oldest Standard" Richard Barkel
