Work as a key member of an Integrated Project Team with key network and cybersecurity responsibilities out of Niskayuna, NY.
Conducted site surveys of the location GE New York locations in preparation for the separation of GE into three distinct parts: Aerospace, Vernova and Healthcare. Created and reviewed detailed plans/diagrams of the GE network system so the separation of communication systems for backhaul and delivery of Cybersecurity and Network systems would mesh well during the split of companies. Provided a preliminary design for the main Telecommunications Rooms (TR) for the proposed site that included Long-haul Telecommunications equipment, rack space, power, grounding/bonding, Inside and Outside plant infrastructure.
Constructed detailed engineering design plans for the split methodically. Designed Telecommunications Room to ensure redundancy of long-haul transport communications lines entering the site from both Easterly and Westerly penetrations of the facilities.
Conducted visits to Fixed Station Research Facilities stations in Greenland and the United Kingdom to ensure these key locations were backed into the design. Program Virtual Server to act as a Zero Touch Provisioning platform to provide a source to push IP addresses and an initial configuration to connected switches on the network.
Run Ansible scripts on connected systems and review results to ensure systems have the correct Cyber configurations/hardening set for cutover. Expertly use WinSCP to move documents between the physical and virtual environments as required by Ansible scripts
Manually upgrade and configure switches that are not reachable by the configuration server using Command Line Interface and Linux commands where required. Participate in System Acceptance Testing for newly stood-up.
