- Developed and established Nursing policies and procedures for our division. We specialized in transitioning individuals with intellectual disabilities, psychiatric diagnosis and complex medical conditions from state sponsored psychiatric/ developmental institutions into the community.
- Established medication safety and administration policy and conducted training for all new hires and other staff members as part of our annual refresher course work or in the event remediation was required
- Participated in development of 13 Group homes with an average of 3-4 clients in each home. My role was critical in determination of whether clients in each home would be able to settle in and thrive in the community setting.
- Participated in multiple interdisciplinary team meetings to map-out strategies that would enhance the quality of our services; not only to meet the health care needs of clients but also to improve their quality of life.
- Trained and mentored staff in all programs in the Southern California region. Including but not limited to Day Program Direct Support Professionals, Residential DSPs, RNs and LVNs.
