Executive Summary: My path began with the concept of noblesse oblige at Orono in Shakespeare class. Growing up privileged in Orono gave me a sense of “noble obligation” to share that privilege with others. From involvement with young people in Minneapolis in 1993, youth programs and education led me to South Africa, and in 2005 I moved to Jordan and later Egypt with Pioneers, teaching in various capacities. In my roles with Pioneers (2005- 2024) I have worn many hats. In Jordan I met my wife who is from Brazil and we had four children. We last lived in Northeast Brazil near Recife, where I continued serving with Pioneers and teaching English. In 2024 we returned to Orono, MN. My hobbies are nature, reading, carpentry, cross-country skiing and gardening. Educational Background
