RESEARCH DIRECTION
Enhanced Pediatric Pneumonia Diagnosis with Chest X-Ray using Deep Attention
[ 12/02/2023 – 03/12/2023 ] Mechanism
The advent of deep learning technologies has revolutionized the field of medical diagnostics, particularly in recent years. This aligns with the findings of the seminal study,
"Enhanced Paediatric Pneumonia Diagnosis with Chest X-Ray Using Deep Attention Mechanism." This research explores the application of Convolutional Neural Networks
(CNNs) combined with an integrated attention mechanism known as CoATNet to enhance the accuracy and responsiveness of pediatric pneumonia diagnosis through chest X-ray analysis. The primary objective of this study is to develop and validate a robust deep learning model capable of detecting subtle pneumonia symptoms in children's chest X- rays. CoATNet's innovative attention mechanism allows the model to prioritize critical areas in the images, thereby enhancing pattern recognition capabilities. This attention- based approach facilitates medical professionals in better understanding the neural components involved in the diagnostic process by making the model's predictions more interpretable. CoATNet demonstrated exceptional performance, achieving a Micro Average of 98.2%, a Weighted Average of 98.7%, and a Model Accuracy of 99.7%. These metrics indicate the model's ability to accurately differentiate between cases of pneumonia and non-pneumonia, even in the presence of class imbalances. RECOMMENDATIONS
