Experience:
RAB Lighting (Term Contract) April 2023 – August 2024
Design Engineer
Design and evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems for lighting and controls fixtures, including cast and extruded aluminum parts, plastics, wiring seals. Maintain appropriate engineering documentation, including 3D, 2D, BOM s and mechanical calculations. Validate new designs through simulations, design reviews, DFMEAs, prototyping and finished product testing.
Allison Transmission - Indianapolis, IN (Term Contract) April 2022 – October 2022
Design Engineer/Revisions Checker
Primarily responsible for checking part and assembly change revisions. I was also tasked with designing 3D CAD models and providing detail drawings for transmission parts and assemblies using Siemens NX. I also utilized SAP for data control.
Rolls-Royce Corporation - Indianapolis, IN (Term Contract) June 2021 – January 2022
Design Engineer
Design/CAD modeling aircraft parts and assemblies using Siemens NX. I also utilized Team Center for data control. Routed wire harnesses and air intake, reorganized assemblies for jet engines. Checked for interferences and proposed changes for interiors for the aerospace industry.
Leoni Wiring Systems, Inc. – Columbus, IN January 2008 – November 2019
Product Engineer
Complete design and management of wire harnesses for commercial vehicles. I build 3-D solid models, create electrical schematics, wire harness assemblies, sub-assemblies and drawings, as well as initiate and incorporating engineering changes for all parts. I also design molds for over-foamed wire harnesses. This position requires strong use of Pro-Engineer, Creo versions, including Windchill PLM. I also use all Microsoft office products including Excel and Power Point. I also learned HarCad and TechCalc, 2D ECAD systems. AutoCAD is also sometimes referenced.
Production Handling Systems, Inc. – Franklin, IN March 2007 – October 2007 Design Engineer/Project Manager
Responsible for the complete design and management of several industrial lift tables and air-bearing turntables. I built 3-D solid models, created assemblies, sub-assemblies and all drawings, as well as engineering changes for all fabricated parts. I also researched and obtained quotes for all purchased components. This position requires strong use of Solid Works.
Sullair - Michigan City, IN February 2006 – March 2007
Analyst Design/Drafter
Responsible for building 3-D solid models, creating assemblies, sub-assemblies, drawings, cost analysis and engineering changes in the industrial air-compressor industry. JD Edwards, One World version Xe is used to create and manipulate Bills of Material. This position requires strong use of Unigraphics, version NX2.
Valeo Sylvania – Seymour, IN August 1999 – January 2001
Design Engineer
Creating 3-D solid models as well as engineering changes and creating detail and assembly drawings for the automotive lighting industry. I was responsible for rearward lighting products, including the lead on the design and development of a license plate bracket and a center, high-mounted stop lamp. Strong usage and understanding of Unigraphics release 15 through 18.
Lithonia Lighting - Crawfordsville, IN August 1997 - May 1999
Product Design Specialist
Designed specified high abuse commercial and industrial lighting fixtures, including cast and spun aluminum parts, plastic parts, sheet metal components and wiring fixture components. These fixtures consisted of both compact linear fluorescent as well as High Intensity Discharge versions. I was responsible for project management tasks and supervised project activities of assistant designers and prototype builds. 3-D solid models, assemblies and detail drawings were created while mastering Pro/Engineer release 18 and 19.
Delphi Energy and Engine Management Systems August 1994 - August 1997
Division of General Motors Corporation
Castleton and Anderson, IN
Product Design Engineer
Contracted by Rapid Design Service, building 3-D solid models and creating assemblies and detail drawings for prototype inverters for electric vehicles.
