FortiGate IPS REVIEW
Complete IPS Review of clients FortiGate firewalls. Produced seven page word doc for each site outlining the current environment with recommendations.
Meraki Switch Replacement
Client was using unmanaged Ubiquity switches, and I was responsible for replacing the environment with Meraki.
Remove routing from the switches to the firewall.
Moved all routing off the Meraki switches to the FortiGate firewall. To standardize the campus we moved intervlan routing to the FortiGate and made the FortiGate the default gateway for all subnets.
Aruba Wireless Install
One site in the network was on legacy wireless. Configured the network for the new Aruba wireless installation.
Ecolab (9 month 1099 contract) 02/03/2024 – 9/01/2024
Senior Network Architect
9300 replacement
Ecolab needed an engineer to replace over 60 cisco 3750 switches with new cisco 9300 platform. All switches replaced without issue. No outage recorded.
Removed Static routes and implemented BGP. Configured BGP on the ASA Fortinet and Palo Alto Firewalls to the Silver Peak Sd/Wan Routers
Reconfigured all new 9300 series with the new standard. Designed a new qos template along with new snmp configuration. Implemented BGP on the edge where they had static routes.

SILVER PEAK SD/WAN
Designed and implemented Dovers SD/WAN solution replacing MPLS at over 290 sites worldwide. Project was implemented over 2 years and saved millions of dollars in circuit costs. All sites configured with high availability for redundancy using BGP and OSPF routing protocols for dynamic failover.
Zscaler Rollout
Configured over 100 sites to use Zscaler IPS and Firewall services. Removed over 80 firewalls from the environment. Configured VPN tunnels to Zscaler from ASA and Palo Alto firewalls to access IPS services in the Zscaler Cloud.
Configured Palo Alto, ASA and Fortinet Firewalls for BGP connecting to Sd/WAN
Responsible for level 4 troubleshooting for all critical network infrastructure. Cisco switches routers firewalls along with Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls.

Senior Network Engineer:
Responsible for design, implementation and maintenance of Mesirow Financials network infrastructure. This includes third level support of all Wan and LAN locations US and overseas. Technologies include a robust eigrp and bgp environment along with a large switching environment using Cisco 1440 VSS switching as well as 30 Cisco 6509 catalyst switches spanning two data centers.
Responsible for design and implementation and support of all third party Market Data Vendors including Bloomberg, Thompson One, Advent Moxy, Worknet, JP Morgan Bank of new york and others.

Lead Network Engineer for HSBC‘s Extranet
Responsible for the HSBC “merchant Extranet”. Daily duties include level 3 support for all 400 remote site connections. Each remote site has a fully redundant wan connection homed back to the primary and backup data centers with isdn for backup. The wan network is 70% frame-relay with isdn backup. All sites are configured for hsrp and two pvcs for redundancy. Eigrp is used along with bgp. Four firewalls are employed between the two data centers. Lead engineer on over 200 network outage crisis calls since 09/2000.
Extranet hardware supported:
1. Eight cisco 3660 routers
2. Four cisco 6509 layer three switches
3. Four Pix firewalls
4. Over 400 cisco 2611/2811 routers
Converted all 400 critical extranet partners to a new network infrastructure within a two-year period without issue. Conversion duties included designing the new infrastructure and configuring new data center routers and switches along with configuring each new router for all 400 sites. Successfully coordinated and tested all converted sites without downtime to any of the critical applications.
Work in direct contact with Senior Management, Vendors, User Community, and Development teams to insure new sites are brought up and tested within the allotted sla to the different business units As the lead network engineer on most projects my responsibilities include developing the ip addressing scheme, configuring all network devices, sizing the appropriate circuit and providing the best possible network solution. Facilitated over 50 data center moves and have brought over 300 new sites on line since September of 2000.
