Printing Plant Worker (Web Press) 11/ 2015- 08/2017 GOVERNMENT PUBLISHING OFFICE (GPO), Washington, DC

As a Printing Plant Worker in the Offset Press Section of the Press Division, I am accountable for the timely delivery of supplies to Hantscho Electronic Web presses in support of press operations.

• Review job orders to find job requirements, such as size of plates and number of copies to be printed. Check press supplies, including inks, paper, cleaning supplies, chemicals, solvents, and rags, and determine whether additional supplies are needed to reach standard levels, and if so, deliver to press.

• Assist press-person in installing and removing plates, printing blankets and rollers. Use a torque wrench to tighten and lock plates before production runs.

• Adjust speed and change delivery belts on packers, using a belt appropriate to the speed of the press, the thickness of the signature (printed material), and the type of paper. Adjust jogger according to the width of the signature, and set and adjust feeder, rollers, and ink flow for delivery and proper print and ink quality.

• As part of the make-ready process, run copies of materials to be printed to check for color registration, alignment, and cutting of paper (splicing). Obtain approval of work from Press-person and take to Reviser for final approval. U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY 05/2010 to 11/2015
