I am a recently widowed mother of a 15-year-old, who recently moved to Abilene from Pecos, TX. I felt we needed a fresh start to our evolving lifestyle. I am looking to get back into the work force and am looking for a new experience. I am a hard worker who is always willing to learn something new. CORRECTIONAL OFFICER; REEVES COUNTY DETENTION CENTER I was in charge of supervising inmates with daily tasks; such as, cleaning their cells, making their bunks, and getting to their onsite appointments on time. I’ve also kept an updated daily log as well as daily paperwork. I’ve also worked in the front lobby screening oncoming staff and answering incoming and transferring outgoing calls.

Substitute Teacher/ Special Ed Aide: Pecos Barstow Toyah ISD I filled in for any absent teacher in all grade levels. They each had their own lesson plans laid out for the day and I would follow their instructions. I was also a long- term substitute for 6 months in a computer class. I taught them keyboarding skills using a Word Processing format. They also used Microsoft Word, Office, and Excel. I also imported their grades and averages through a spreadsheet format using the Class format. I also made copies for paperwork. I also was an Aide for the Special Ed Department where I worked one on one with students who needed a bit more time completing their assignments.

I interned as a mentor for the Campfire Boys and Girls where I helped set up sessions for single mothers who were attending parenting classes. I then interned for a Youth Boys Home where I was a mentor for teenage males who were having difficulties coping in their homes. I would listen if they wanted to talk or have group sessions. The last internship I did was for the Advocacy Center, where I was a sexual abuse hot line advocate, who would go to the hospital and provide information on the steps of a sexual assault, what to expect when reporting and assisting the families during the examination. 08/1997 TO 05 1998

I maintained a 3.7 g.p.a. I was going for my bachelor's degree in psychology. I worked as a student aide in the campus library where I shelved returned books, checked out books to students, categorized archived magazines, and put out new reading material. 08/93 TO 05/1997
