EDI Business Systems Analyst / Integration

Senior EDI Technical Business Analyst for our Dole Fresh Fruit, Dole Packaged Foods, Dole Vegetable as well as Dole's corporate financial/legal division.

Provided day-to-day EDI operations, which included failed data delivery resolutions, manufacturer, warehouse, distributer scheduling maintenance, EDI ANSI X-12, XML and EDIFACT transactions and communication implementation along with maintenance of new and old data processes

Provided internal business and external customer/technical support involving multiple projects concurrently. Technical and Functional process analysis for all divisions of Dole Food Company along with QA testing and implementation.

Collaborated closely with Dole Fresh Fruit business management, web service providers, programmers as well as their external customers to implement a process using a web portal delivery method and discontinue current paper/fax. The challenge was to become a paperless organization. This project was highly visible and we were pioneering the process for all accounts receivable departments across all divisions of Dole. The objective was to provide non-EDI customers, vendors, warehouses and distributors another method of delivering/receiving data by the end of 2009. Analyzed and provided our web service provider functional, technical, security design requirements customized for Dole Fresh Fruit's division. Worked with each individual internal/external user providing system access and training on the new electronic invoice web portal. Went beyond original scope of work to satisfy the many external users that did not want to adopt this new method. End result, all users embraced and even found this web method beneficial even for their own organization. Implemented 101 customers by December 31st our goal was 100. January 4th all fax/email processes were turned off and users were solely using the new invoice web portal. Approximately saved $20,000 in invoice stock alone. Additionally, reduced 20 man working hours a week. Reduced 2.5 days off the DSO which had an impact of approximately $6.5 million dollars in expedited cash due in most part to faster customer invoice receipt and quicker payment due. 91% of all Dole Fresh Fruit invoices are now billed out electronically using EDI or Web portal. This is an improvement from around 70% in December of 2009.

Technical and implementation leader assigned to Dole Corporate Financial division. Consolidated all existing EDI processes from Melon Bank, Bank of America and Wells Fargo Bank to use one financial institution, Wachovia/Cobank Worked directly with Wachovia/Cobank and Dole Corporate to migrate all existing EDI processes using their institution. Streamlined all new financial projects using a standard that provided time sensitive, delivery assurance, highly secure and large volume amounts. Provided post-implementation technical support and monthly maintenance.

Assisted in outsourcing Dole Packaged Food's division EDI processes to Inovis EDI provider. Provided technical requirements and documentation to Inovis and assisted in QA testing. Dole Food Company did not have the necessary resources to handle the high volume of new trading partners as well as provide on-going support/changes for existing partners. Within 2 months of outsourcing, Dole Packaged Foods was able to reduce their delinquent backlog of over 150 EDI process requests.

Coordinated $10 million global product traceability initiative for Dole Fresh Vegetables division to be in compliance with the 2002 and 2008 Farm Bills amendment of the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946. This law requires retailers to notify their customers of the country of origin throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Worked directly with Dole Fresh Vegetables business and their customers to add an additional EDI segment to maps to show the Country of Origin.

Worked with Deloitte and Touche on scheduled Sarbanes–Oxley audits. Implemented initial changes/features to EDI systems to ensure Dole systems were SOX compliant.
