WORK HISTORY
Staff Product Engineer, 06/2009 - 04/2023
Power Integratrions – San Jose, CA
• Collaborated with foundry engineers to introduce offshore release of products at new wafer fabs, completing five new releases, including foundry experiments, facility qualification, and first-time sort for blind build die.
• Managed weekly offshore wafer sort meetings, releasing 21 mask sets across 3 sites, and inputting data into Product Life Management (PLM) system for production orders and engineering evaluations.
• New Product Introduction. Assembled prototype material for new product introduction, collaborated with Apps, Test and Design Engineering to establish test limits and provide key data for new product data sheet.
• Conducted characterizations and analyses for new foundry and offsite test releases, provided customer support for parametric evaluations, and gave monthly product yield presentations.
• Redefined sorted wafer material in die bank to more acceptable which recovered over $100k inventory.
• Correlated wafer sort to final test which justified removal of wafer sort, provided faster thruput at reduced cost. Product Engineering Manager, 05/2001 - 06/2009
Power Integrations – San Jose, CA
• Managed 6 product engineers, 3 technicians, and maintained acceptable yields by dispositioning low-yielding material and providing offshore test support.
• Maintained own product line, performed ISO9000 audits, developed queries for Business Objects software to provide yields and test limits, and successfully managed release of existing product lines at new foundry.
• Successfully evaluated reliability qualifications to meet customer requirements and maintain product quality. Product Engineering Section Head, 06/1995 - 05/2001 Power Integrations – San Jose, CA
• Managed team of 2 Product Engineers and 1 Technician focused on improving yields and evaluating reliability qualifications.
• Maintained own product line, identified PCM foundry parameters impacting major failure mode during testing.
• Significantly improved yields and consistency by controlling variation of PCM parameters.
• Effectively dispositioned material on hold for low yield, resulting in improved product performance. EDUCATION
