Experience:

Test Engineer III – Peraton, Remote - 07/2021 - Present

The focus of this project was for the County of San Diego and developing software for their Integrated Property Tax System (IPTS). The first of its kind custom developed application responsible for maintaining all areas of property taxes within the County. This includes Assessor, Tax Collector, Auditor and Controller as well as Clerk of board.

In this role, my responsibilities included creating, maintaining, and organizing System Integration test cases, User Acceptance test cases, and bugs using Azure Devops. Within this project, there are over 30 different modules of the application and as part of this role, it was imperative to stay organized with attention to detail to ensure that each module could be tested simultaneously and help minimize application bugs and defects.

I specialized in over 10 different modules including Property Assessments, Exemptions, Exclusions, Changes of Ownership and mass mailing functionality. Over the course of my work on this project we reached 80-100% UAT pass rate.

Strong ability to collaborate with our clients in order to successfully execute and pass test cases while also maintaining highest level of customer satisfaction. Daily, we would work through upwards of 20 test cases and bugs to ensure system stability.

As an integrated software, it was imperative to identify system failures and defects. When these issues were identified, it was essential as part of my responsibilities to document these defects and clearly articulate the problem and the acceptance criteria. Clear communication with developers as well as daily triages were required to successfully meet project deadlines.

Time management was essential within this role. Many times, we would be required to attend up to 6 – 8 meetings per day, while also completing my day-to-day tasks. Therefore, prioritizing my work and balancing my schedule was a crucial skill that was gained on this project.

The project was fast paced with dynamic challenges that required ability to learn a variety of different software applications to optimize testing.

Messaging Admin/Microsoft Office 365 Administrator – Peraton/Perspecta, Clarksville, VA - 07/2019 – 07/2021

Key responsibilities include production support and server administration of emailing system for the Department of Homeland Security.

Provide monitoring, reporting and resolution of Email as a Service (EaaS) incidents and server alerts.

Averaged 10 incidents a week involving message tracing. Also included deleting files off servers to clear space, rebooting un-responsive servers and reporting hardware failure alerts.

Actively monitor activities to ensure successful email flow and escalate to appropriate teams as needed for resolution.

Perform Monthly and ad hoc Windows Server Administration to maintain security compliance which included patching windows and browsers, updated virus protection, updated routes, updated certificates and add/remove software as needed in order to keep all software up to date on the servers we supported.

Provide Microsoft Office 365 User Administration which provided users access to mailboxes, Distribution Lists, and calendars so they could perform their job duties.

Use ProofPoint protection and Exchange Online Protection to track when email is not delivered as expected.

Messaging Admin – Convergenz, Vienna, VA - 08/2018 – 07/2019

Key responsibilities include production support and server administration of emailing system for the Department of Homeland Security.

Primary responsibilities include ensure mail flows successfully to and from message servers.

Restore email that users have accidently deleted.

Maintain servers keeping all software up to date which included installing patches every month.

Software Test Engineer – Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, Durham, NC - 11/2013 – 06/2018

Functional, regression, and system testing for the Toshiba Application Client Environment (ACE).

Support ongoing feature development through creation and execution of test plans based on Agile Functional Specifications.

Develop and execute System test plans that ensure all new features and existing functionality have been exercised thoroughly as part of the larger system.

Certified EMV Card Processing on First Data and Vantiv Host systems. Worked with Host provider and PIN Pad provider to certify EMV by running test scripts, opening defects, applying new software updates and re-testing to complete certifications.

Responsible for keeping POS registers and PIN Pads updated with correct software and configuration.

Verify all publications are updated to reflect new or changed features.

Perform regression testing to ensure all open defects have been fixed.

Software Test Engineer – Computer Task Group, Durham, NC - 08/2011 – 11/2013

Software Test Engineer – NCR, Raleigh, NC - 04/2001 – 06/2011

Primary responsibilities include QA testing and qualifying release builds for the NCR Transaction Broker which interfaces the FastLane (Self-Checkout) Generic Core Application to a customer IBM 4690 POS Operating System and ACE/SA Applications.

Write detailed functional, system and customer specific test cases to test the Transaction Broker and Core Applications against customer specific POS applications.

Lead installation, maintenance and administration of all QA lab systems.

Perform manual and automated test execution of functional, system and customer test cases.

Mercury WinRunner was used to perform automated testing on the system.

Test and qualify builds for release to customer labs.

Investigate, document and assign defects via incident tracking systems (STAR, Test Director).

Perform regression testing on all release builds prior to release qualification.
