Position: Packaging Health and Safety Representative Descriptions and achievements:

• Conducted health and safety audits.As a way of promoting and ensuring compliance to Safety at work, I conducted the audits and Gaps identified were shared to the teams and followed up on their closure.

• Identify potential hazards, risks and dangers. Working in an area with allot of hazards around, Continous identification of hazards, risks and dangers was done and applied the hierarchy of controls of hazards.

• Investigate incidents.I on a daily basis investigated work place incidents and ensured an RCA is carried out to eliminated re-occurance of incidents .

• Make recommendations regarding health and safety.As a way of improving the safety culture, I shared a number recommendations on how best we can improve the safety culture in packaging having done walkabouts with teams, reviewed through the incident and accident books, RCA’s.

• Conduct inspections.I created a weekly inspection schedule through which different teams would meet up and we do both individual and group inspections in the different parts of the Packaging team

• Attend health and safety committee meetings.I Attended health and safety meetings and also shared weekly and monthly updates on the incidents, accidents, Safety Report cards raised, Safety improvements done

• Machine LOTO Enforcement. I did a project on LOTO enforcement were I trained teams in packaging on the basics and Importances of LOTO which in turn yielded greater results in the safe wellbeing of the teams and machines.

Descriptions and achievements:

• Participated in the work order backlog prioritization process, and developing job plans in order implied by priorities and equipment availability

• Developed and maintained a job plan library and ensured job plans available for scheduled work orders

• Lead the development of appropriate PMs and equipment strategies for assigned areas

• Indicated that jobs are ‘ready for scheduling’ once job planning and parts availability was ensured

• Coordinated with the maintenance storeroom to ensure that kits are created for all scheduled work, including PMs and repair work

• Autonomous Maintenance championing: On a daily basis, printed out Autonomous maintenance forms,gave them to the technical operators who did them and forwarded back the feedback from the execution on a daily basis. This helped improve machine efficiency and increased Productivity

• Maintained the technical and historic data of equipment

• SAP Trainings for teams to ensure correct feedback is given in the system after executing on ground.

• Planning and scheduling meeting compliance on a weekly basis to ensure actions from production and engineering are captured into the next weeks Plan

• Worked closely with the packaging engineer in ensuring all engineering Gaps captured are closedout on ground. Also acted for packaging engineer whenever his not around on several occasions.

• Asset care Best Practice enforcement and TRACC weekly catchup with teams to close all gaps identified which moved our TRACC Rating from 0.5 to 1.7 rating.

• Facilitated weekly scheduling meeting with production and maintenance managers (PDR)

• Developed weekly schedules based on production priorities and maintenance resources

• Led a daily prioritization meeting to incorporate new jobs into the backlog and assign rules-based priority

• Maintenance Planning and scheduling.

• Machine testing and cleaning. Before production started on a daily basis, Ensured machines were thoroughly Cleaned and tested to avoid Breakdowns for happening.

• Spare parts inventory. I continously followedup with spares from the different suppliers and ensured the agreed lead times were not exceeded before the spare was delivered.

• Making daily production reports. After every production days run, I made reports on the status of the machines and also the spares available so as to have clear traction of what was on ground.

• Stock taking. On a weekly basis, stock taking was done to validate the spares both used and on ground and reconciliations were done to identify any gaps or looses and recovery plans clearly called out to the managers.

• Receiving production Packing lists. Before every production Run, I made sure we met as a team and went through the Packing lists for the day clearly calling out the production target for that particular day.

• Making monthly downtime reports. I made presentations to both the teams and management on the time lost due to down time and what exactly happened and the recoveries that came through.

• Safety awareness. Working in an environment with allot of hazards, I ensured safety was put first by Creating awareness to the team through the safety stickers, Posters, trainings, documentations that I did and in the long run the safety culture improved March 2017 to December 2017

Description and achievements

• Machine cleaning & adjusting. On a daily basis, Carried out Cleaning,inspection, lubrication ans Tightening on the different machine parts which helped me to captured defected parts and components.

• Machine check-ups.I developed a weekly machine checklist which I placed on the 10 machines highlighting the different focuss areas per day to be checked on the machines.

• Welding & fabrication of metal parts. I carried out Hot works on the different machines

• Machine operation. Technically Operated the different machines and ensured daily set targets were achieved

• Iron sheet quality. Quality assurance was a key driver for me as I worked hand in hand with the quality team in ensuring the machines produced good quality iron sheets complying to the ISO standards.

• Health and Safety Enforcement. Working in an area where there are allot of hazards, I developed a weekly Safety production inspection checklist which was used by the different teams,Created weekly safety walkabouts and also trained teams on the hierach of control of Hazards.

Description and achievements

• Health and Safety Awareness. Working closely with the Safety Manager, I trained teams on the hierarchy of control, did safety checks on the different machines and Ensured Safety Posters were Up to date.

• Machine operation. Operated Different machines from which I was able to ensure compliance to short interval controls, suggested different machine inprovements on the different parts which in turn helped to boost Machine efficiency

• Gripper bell servicing. Serviced Gripper bells of the packer And Unpacker machines from which I was able to generate a wear parts checklist for the machines

• Pump assembling. I assembled different pumps on the line,and validated spares Availability

• Welding parts. I did Hot works from the work shops

• Daily Machine cleaning and inspection. I carried out CILT on the different machines which helped improve machine shelf life
