DESIGN, ANALYSIS & OPTIMIZATION OF ELECTRICAL VEHICLE CHASSIS Today’s automotive industry may face some of the biggest technical challenges in its history. In most parts of the world, regulations and laws are being formulated to improve fuel economy and reduce exhaust emissions.
These challenges, coupled with rapidly changing customer preferences and growing market demand to improve vehicle performance and reliability, require automotive companies to reconsider their previous methods and find better ways to reduce costs over time. The chassis is the "skeleton" of the car which providing the structural strength, and the mounting points for other components.
The best designof the chassis is a matter of finding a compromise between performances, safety and manufacturing costs.Beside safety aspects, the chassis must also be designed with fuel efficiency in mind. Chassis design will beoptimized to accommodate both the safety and fuel efficiency requirements. ANSYS is a general purpose software, used to simulate interactions of all disciplines ofphysics, structural, vibration, fluid dynamics, heat transfer and electromagnetic for engineers. So ANSYS, which enables to simulate tests or working conditions, enables to test in virtual environment before manufacturing prototypes of products.
Electric vehicles have become a national obsession in the United States and Europe. It became a popular activity throughout time, and other countries quickly followed suit. Electric vehicles are becoming a popular alternative for the foreseeable future. As a consequence, this study covers the design, modeling, and simulation procedures for an electric car's chassis in detail.
