Creating a farm business is challanging and beneficial in the sense that it helps us acquire the necessary knowledge and skill needed to run a farm. Such knowledge give us the positive mental attitude to tackle the problem in the future.
Such knowledge includes :
- Making financial decision such as budgeting, accounting for costs, and paying bills
- Providing leadership to employees including hiring, training, supervising, evaluating their performance
- Planning and carrying out farming activities such as planting seeds, caring for crops and harvesting produce
- Preparing budgets and managing expenses for the farm, including labour costs, equipment purchases and supplies used in production
- Overseeing the sale of produce or livestock at aution or thought other venues such as farmer’s markets
