Working with the council, we look after the electrical contract and maintenance contracts, overseeing EIC/EICR’S, remedial work, installs, breakdowns, maintenance, this also includes working in office checking electrical test results, approving work orders/invoices, dealing with queries, attending meetings with contractors and general admin. A role that requires someone with in depth knowledge and experience in domestic and commercial testing and installation, I am competent and confident to be able to move into any role that requires versatility, whether it be working alone on several systems/disciplines or managing a team. Here at Wandsworth & Richmond Council I have been able to broaden my knowledge & skills and essentially becoming a valuable addition to the team.
Key responsibilities:
Post inspections: attend sites to check & verify contractors work is complete to regulation standards
Understand & review EICR’s results (satisfactory/unsatisfactory), certificates submitted weekly by contractor
Experience in dealing with several systems, Electrical, Fire, AOV’s, Door entry, EV, street lighting.
Detect and report any breakdowns to contractors
Provide reliable supervision of contractor project work, progress and signing off
Approve works and or raise any concerns with contractor regarding results

Covering commercial & social housing properties in South London and Croydon, this role enabled me to excel in my career and a role where my experience and knowledge was of essence. This temporary role enabled me to understand the importance of time management and efficiency in project handling, as there were multiple sites to cover.

This role has been a great learning curve for me, which I found quite challenging to begin with. I was able to combine my experience working on installation and maintenance to help understand how the data center is run daily. I gained valuable mechanical and electrical knowledge on an industrial scale.

Employed on a sub-contracted basis this role enabled me to broaden my knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering. Although this was short term, working with high clients; Selfridges, Rolex headquarters and BMW, I gained the necessary experience within this field.
